A number of those talents will take their own talents to the north Georgia mountains – more specifically, the LakePoint Sports complex in Cartersville. It will be one of four Top 250 Expo events to close out this year’s Prep Hoops slate with others happening in three midwestern states – Illinois, Indiana and Kansas.
We close our previews of this year’s Top 250 Expo participants with a look at a few from the senior class.
Alden Annis
Alden Annis
Annis will have one of the shorter treks of anyone who will be at this year’s Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo given he plays his high school ball at 7A Harrison which is based in Kennesaw. Listed at 6-foot-1, he is one who is confident in his ability to drain the 3-point shot. His court vision enables him to make plays that will keep his teammates involved in the flow of a game. The Hoyas record has taken an upward trajectory over the last three seasons and one can expect that to once again be the case in 2023-24 in Annis’ senior season.
Want height? Fettinger provides plenty of it and then some at a towering 6-foot-7. During the spring and summer months, he runs with OTP Basketball on the travel circuit. Also during this past spring and summer, Fettinger landed a scholarship offer from Reinhardt University. He led his 6A River Ridge Knights to a 21-8 campaign last season. Fettinger plays with a heads-up attitude including on defense and that can leave opposing offenses turnover-prone. His versatility comes in with his ability to make plays close to the rim or set up shop outside the perimeter to drain a long range shot.
The Jesse McMillan era has brought a great deal of winning to 7A Norcross and last season was no different. Pace and his Blue Devils made a deep run in last season’s 7A state tournament – all the way to the state semifinals. Pace makes plenty of plays as a passer and knows how to weave his way through a defense. He possesses plenty of speed – including when he has the ball in his hands – and is more than capable of delivering a strong finish at the rim. A 3-point shot is also part of Pace’s overall offensive arsenal. He has an offer from Division I Detroit.
Ethan Parker
Ethan Parker
After a superb time on the travel circuit with North Georgia Elite, Parker is hoping that it translates to the high school season with 3A Dawson County. He stands at an even six feet. Between his ability to get from one end of the court to the other, his ability to slice and dice through defenses and effectively finish at the rim, Parker is difficult for opposing defenses to keep in check. Add in his ability to drain 3-point attempts and one can see why Parker is drawing interest from Division II and Division III schools. Those finishes at the rim can also be made with his left hand.
