All that remains between now and the start of the 2023-24 high school season is a few weeks. This guaranteed that for the final set of Top 250 Expos that the competition would appear to be in midseason form.
This past weekend, four states played host to Top 250 Expos. One of those was Georgia with its LakePoint Sports complex in Bartow County once again being the host site for the event. Other similar events were held this past weekend in three midwestern states – Illinois, Indiana and Kansas.
How great was Team 8 this past weekend? Here is who caught our attention from said team.
As Dupree embarks on his sophomore season at 2A Southwestern, collegiate programs are already taking notice of his game. Not just collegiate programs – Division I collegiate programs. North Carolina A&T and Mercer have already extended offers to Dupree. He is effective in the transition game and can get emphatic with how he finishes at the rim. Dupree also understands when the right time is to score and when it is the correct moment to pass. He also does the little things such as deliver all-out hustle that may not show up on the stat sheet, but go a long way in ensuring victories.
When we were compiling our 2024 preview for this year’s Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo, we made sure to mention this veteran standout from 6A River Ridge. Fettinger is fresh off what one would assume would be his final spring and summer on the club circuit where he wore the uniform of OTP National. It cannot be said enough that height cannot be coached and Fettinger presents plenty of it at 6-foot-7. He can be relied on to play interior defense and has no problems drawing contact to get himself to the free throw line. Rebounding and blocking shots are two of his other strong points.

As Huff enters his sophomore season, he brings junior varsity experience to the table at Ware County – a 5A school. He also has travel experience as well with Waycross Supersonics. Huff is listed at 6-foot-3 and displays that he has no issue with basketball being played on contact as he will take his chances at the free throw line. While he can typically be seen playing the two as a shooting guard, he will also log productive minutes as a wing. An up-and-comer who displays that he can score at all three levels, Huff appears to be one of those “just getting started” types of prospects.
Speaking of offers, they are starting to come in for this veteran from the metro-Atlanta area. Voorhees College was the school that McCarn announced had him on their radars. One can see why that is the case. McCarn can be very accurate from behind the 3-point line, which is why it is fitting he can play the two as a shooting guard. He has plenty of height at 6-foot-5 which helps his versatility as he can play the three as well as he can play the two. Southeast Basketball Academy was the organization that he played his travel ball with recently. Something tells us Voorhees will not be the only school that wants him to wear its colors after he graduates following the 2024-25 campaign.
