After a terrific summer with the Middlesex Magic, Cloonan with travel across the country next fall to play for Claremont McKenna. A high-academic product from Needham, Cloonan took his game to new levels over the last few months, showcase not just an ability to score, but to direct an offense and manufacture easy baskets for his teammates.
The BCRI product came off the board in September with a commitment to Joe Jones and Boston University. While holding offers from the likes of American, FDU, New Hampshire, and NJIT, the lefty combo guard chose to stay close to home to play for the Terriers. Abdullah, originally from Rhode Island, should play a big role in Vermont Academy’s success this winter.
Another product of Vermont Academy, Ndefo is off the board to Towson. A 6’7” lefty with length and athleticism, Ndefo should thrive in Towson’s system as a versatile defender who can score at all three levels. A longtime member of the Crown program, Chike chose Towson over offers from Iona, Manhattan, Siena, UMBC, and others.
There might not be a player in the region who improved their stock as much in the last year as Cox, and ultimately, that led to his commitment to play for Matt Painter at Purdue. The Milton Academy guard, and longtime member of the Middlesex Magic, is known a tough shot maker, standout defender, and most importantly, a winner. He chose Purdue over offers from Northeastern, Penn, UMass, Vermont, William & Mary, Yale, and more.
Kingswood Oxford’s Chuck Hare Chuck Hare 6’10” | C Kingswood-Oxford | 2024 State NLG made his college plans known when he pledged to Holy Cross. A well-known name on the local circuit, the 6’10” Hare, a Connecticut native, had mostly D2 interest before jumping at the chance to play for the Crusaders in the Patriot League. A high IQ big man, Hare’s biggest impact early may be as a post defender and interior facilitator.
Ranked 2nd overall in New England, Betsey recently announced his pledge to Cincinnati. The consensus Top 50 prospect in the country was a priority recruit for Wes Miller and his staff and ultimately chose the Bearcats over offers from Alabama and UConn. Expect the 6’8” wing to make an instant impact next year with his scoring ability and perimeter shooting.
Edelman, a New York native, was the most recent local to announce his college plans, opting to take his talents closer to home and play for Wesleyan. The New Hampton big man should be able to make an immediate impact in the NESCAC as he provides a nice combination of size and perimeter shooting. He’ll be one to watch this winter to see what kind of developments he can make to his game in his 3rd year in the prep ranks.
