There has been quite a bit movement this offseason, where many of these transfers are looking to be key contributors right from the jump with their respective new teams. Let’s take a closer look at 5 more of these prospects and what they bring to the table.
Landon Mashburn
Landon Mashburn
Mashburn comes to this new look Canterbury squad looking to be major factor right out of the gate. The 6’4″ Guard/Forward can score in bunches and with his solid frame will be looked upon for his defense and rebounding throughout the year. He has a smooth jump shot and some solid bounce where likes to get to the hoop and finish at the rim. Mashburn is a very well rounded player with a great knowledge of the game, and will contribute for the Cougars in number of ways this season.
Darrell Holmes
Darrell Holmes
The Barren Collier transfer will be a great addition for this Palmetto Ridge team looking to build off a solid 2022-23 campaign. Holmes is a strong, tough kid who plays with a tremendous amount of energy. Even though he may be slightly undersized, his solid frame and aggressive nature allow him to guard any position with confidence. He goes hard to the hoop and is a great rebounder who will get his share of points off the glass. Holmes is a great fit with this already talented Bears squad, look for him to step his game up and settle right into this new roster.
One of the taller prospects in SWFL, Ashley comes over to the Vikings from cross-town rival Canterbury. He’s a big man who can work down low but also has a nice soft touch. He can definitely put the ball in the basket but where I think he stands out is on the defensive end. His length and wingspan allow him to alter shots, which make him a headache in the middle for opposing offenses, not too mention being a major factor on the boards. Ashley is an intriguing prospect with size, length, and athleticism, that you should continue to monitor throughout this season.
Highlights
The 6’6″ sophomore prospect finds a new home with CSN for the 2023-24 season. London will give the Seahawks some size to go with their guard-heavy lineup, where he will be looked upon for his rebounding and being able to play multiple positions on both ends of the floor. He’s developed a nice mid-range game to compliment his play down low and still continues to develop his offensive skillset. I see both London and CSN being a great fit for one another, so lets continue to monitor this prospect and his development throughout the year.
