In this series, we will be a look at some quick hitters, the top player, potential breakout player, other roster roster members and notable games of the upcoming season. For today’s spotlight, we take a look at the Bloomington South Panthers.
Quick Hitters
- Finished 16-9 last season
- Lost to Center Grove in Sectionals
- J.R. Holmes returns for 42send year as head coach. 753-243 record at Bloomington South
Top Player: Zach Sims Zach Sims 6'3" | SF Bloomington South | 2024 State IN
Sims is a 6’3 lead guard that is looking to have a big year for the Panthers this season. He is one of the more physical guards in the southern Indiana area and has an extremely efficient mid-range game. He is also extremely aggressive when it comes to attacking the lane and finishing at the rim. As a guard, he is very good on the boards as well. While Bloomington South does not have the high level talent like it has in year’s past, Sims a bright spot for them and should finish out his high school career very strong. A guy that could play at the small college level.
Other Important Roster members:
- Tucker Simpson Tucker Simpson 6'1" | SG Bloomington South | 2025 IN
- Matthew Tierney Matthew Tierney 6'8" | C Bloomington South | 2026 IN
Notable Games (Confirmed)

- at Bloomington North (1/5)
- vs Evansville Central (12/16)
