Sir William McDuffie
Sir William McDuffie
Sir William was a force to be reckoned with in Cypress Ridge’s game against Fort Bend Christian Academy. Ridge ultimately fell short in the end by a few points, but McDuffie led a big time comeback in the second half to bring his squad within a single digit deficit. Sir William started off slow in the early stages of the contest, but then began to heat up as the game progressed, finding ways to impact the game on both ends of the court. You could tell as a fan when he was in the game that the energy, especially on defense, took a positive turn and his teammates were rallied behind him. McDuffie started to hit jumper after jumper and showed great prowess getting to the basket past his defender, as well as running the offense and changing the pace of the game to benefit his team. This was my first time getting to watch Sir William run an offense for the length of an entire game and I was definitely impressed with his playmaking attributes and ability to get a quick bucket. Collegiate coaches, I promise he is worth your time when looking for a high level prospect who loves to distribute the basketball!
Zae Spencer
Zae Spencer
Zae was a total bucket getter for his squad in their game against Legacy Prep Christian Academy. Spencer went to work on the offensive end, making everything look easy, including some transition buckets as well. He was aggressive on the defensive side, bodying his matchup physically and leading to several steals that ended in some throw down dunks to swing momentum in the direction of Goose Creek. Zae possesses great energy as a leader when he is on the court and is always having a positive attitude the whole duration of the game. Spencer has big upside as a prospect in the 2024 class if he continues this level of play and helps Goose Creek to a dominating season performance.
Aidean Rainey Jr
Aidean Rainey Jr
Aidean played with an aggressiveness this game that was unmatched. You could tell this contest watching from the sidelines that he was locked in and focused the entire length of the game and cared about nothing but getting his team the clutch win in crunch time. Rainey possesses great length and athleticism used to get to the basket over outstretched arms of defenders and can also pull up for an open jumper when needed. Aidean made a huge impact for this Houston Christian squad off the bench and came with the firepower needed to secure the win for the Mustangs. Rainey could be a great glue guy for a collegiate program looking for someone who can motivate all the players on a team to work together.
Alex Miller
Alex Miller
Alex was a great post presence on the floor for his Fort Bend Christian squad during their opening tournament game against Cypress Ridge. Miller showed exceptional ability to stretch the floor and was able to hit several open jumpers when the defense left him open, making them pay for failing to close out. Miller also used his wingspan on defense to block several shots under the basket and come down with the rebound, providing an outlet for a fastbreak pass downcourt. Fort Bend was able to move the ball really well as an entire team and it definitely showed on the offensive end of the court, with Miller being a key piece to this equation. Look for him to continue to make a big time impact as a key player on this team of go out and get it hoopers.
