While Cash will be announcing his college commitment in the upcoming weeks, he is still uncommitted for the time being. His athleticism and speed were on full display on Sunday and he looks ready for a huge senior year leading the pirates. He was blowing by defenders on his way to the rim in transition and was also creating looks for himself out on the perimeter. As usual, Chavis looked very composed as the Pirates’ lead ball handler and facilitator, doing a great job of getting his new teammates involved.
Highlights
Chiang Ring may just be my favorite player to watch heading into the 2023-24 season. He was absolutely dominant inside, looking like he was playing on a lower rim compared to others on the floor. He is easily the best shot blocker in the state and rejected just about every single shot attempted on him. Ring caught at least four alley-oops that I saw and was slamming it home whenever he got the chance. The 6-foot-8 forward also showed off his versatility as he knocked down a couple of triples.
Charlie turned in an exceptional performance in a super tough matchup with Park Center. He played with no fear whatsoever and scored the majority of his teams baskets. He was going right at the size of the Pirates defense, converting on some tough contested finishes inside. He also looked extremely comfortable in the catch-and-shoot, being able to get shots off before a defender could contest. Theis was a prospect that impressed me during the club season and should be in for a successful senior year.
Jackson is such a key piece for this Park Center team that could make a deep run in March. He is the swiss-army knife of Minnesota high school basketball and can do just about everything when he is on the floor. He had a great showing from beyond the arc in a win over DeLaSalle, doing most of his damage off the catch. He can also put the ball on the floor to create for his team, whether he is the one scoring or if he is setting up his teammate for a better look. Fowlkes is also a fantastic defender, being able to guard multiple positions with his 6-foot-4 frame.
I remember watching Ari play in his earlier high school years, but he was almost unrecognizable with the improvements he has made to his game. He will be attending Park Center for his senior season, after making stops at Hopkins, Armstrong, and Camden (NJ). Gooch adds even more athleticism to this Pirates team and was catching some major hang time on dunks in the fast break. Ari also looked good using the dribble to create separation, as I saw him drill a step back three.

Aidan is another piece of this Park Center team that ties all of this talent together into one lineup. Most of the value he brings to the table comes with his ball handling and defensive presence on opposing guards. He can be trusted to bring the ball up the floor against pressure and can play at different speeds to keep defenders on their toes. He is also a relentless defender and loves to pick up at full court. Memene also showed some flashes as a scorer, as I saw him get to the basket and connect with a pull-up jumper in the mid-range.
