Schools in the County: Ashley Ridge HS, Cane Bay HS, Cathedral Academy, Faith Christian, Fort Dorchester HS, Riverpointe Christian Academy, Palmetto Scholars, Pinewood Prep, Summerville HS and Woodland HS
Ashley Ridge HS – The Swamp Foxes will rely on Senior Jahlil Hope Jahlil Hope 6'3" | SG Ashley Ridge | 2024 State SC to lead the way on this season. Hope really lacks a true position but he brings efficiency around the bucket. Jahlil averaged 18.3 ppg and 9.8 rebounds last season for the Swamp Foxes (17-10). He currently has 881 career points entering his senior season.
Cane Bay HS – The Cobras lost plenty of punch from the backcourt last season due to graduation. The trio of Curtrell Dixon Curtrell Dixon 6'3" | SG Cane Bay | 2024 State SC , Ziayre Williams Ziayre Williams 6'6" | PF Cane Bay | 2024 State SC and Jayden Coffey Jayden Coffey 5'11" | PG Cane Bay | 2024 State SC will lead the way. Dixon and Coffey will hold down the backcourt while Williams a RAW talent will patrol the paint area. Coffey is a transfer from nearby Ashley Ridge HS.
Cathedral Academy – The Generals fell in the SCISA Class 2A State Championship Game a season ago. Bryce Ward Bryce Ward 5'9" | PG Cathedral Academy | 2027 State SC is a very confident freshman guard for Generals Head Coach Blake Ferguson. Ward averaged 11.3 ppg last season for the Generals (22-14).
AJ Gresham AJ Gresham 6'0" | CG Cathedral Academy | 2025 State SC was a nice addition last season to the Generals and will provide good scoring punch on any given night. Gresham averaged 11 ppg last season. Amare Jeter Amare Jeter 6'2" | PG Cathedral Academy | 2026 State SC was a new addition to the Generals this off season. Jeter transferred in from nearby Palmetto Scholars.
Faith Christian (Summerville) – The Knights won the SCISA Class 1A State Championship last season while finishing (27-2). Who will step up this season for Head Coach Steve Guerry? Juniors Michael King Michael King 6'4" | PF Faith Christian | 2025 State SC and Isaiah Freberg Isaiah Freberg 6'3" | SG Faith Christian | 2025 State SC look to be two solid candidates to take charge for the Knights.
Fort Dorchester HS – The Patriots look to be a new team this season for Head Coach Thomas McElveen. Cazz Williams Cazz Williams 6'2" | CG Fort Dorchester | 2024 State SC , Bryan Bright Bryan Bright 6'6" | PF Fort Dorchester | 2024 State SC and Tony McGill will provide senior leadership. Williams can create his own shot and score the ball from all 3 levels. Bright is an undersized post player who made his way over from Ashley Ridge HS.
Riverpointe Christian Academy – RCA will be a new school in SCISA Class 1A this season. Junior Kevin Dukes Kevin Dukes 6'3" | SF Riverpointe Christian Academy | 2025 State SC a left-handed mismatch at times can score the ball in a hurry. He averaged over 17 ppg last season at nearby Stall HS. Dukes has a chance to utilize his old school style play to the court. Terry Truesdale Jr Terry Truesdale Jr 6'2" | PF Riverpointe Christian Academy | 2027 State SC plays a very effective game around the cup with a lot of toughness and grit. He really likes to play the game through contact.
Palmetto Scholars – The Phoenix finished last season at (3-18). How will things go this season for this program located in North Charleston.
Pinewood Prep (Summerville) – The Panthers will rely on Senior Michael Vince Michael Vince 6'5" | SG Pinewood Prep | 2024 State SC and Jonathan Slawson Jonathan Slawson 5'11" | PG Pinewood Prep | 2026 State SC this season. Vince is looking to have a breakout season in the SCISA Class 4A ranks. Michael has grown a bit and brings good size to the wing along with the ability to dial up from deep. Vince averaged 14.2 ppg last season while connecting on 36% (78-214) from downtown.
Slawson plays the game like a pit-bull at times and surely won’t hesitate to jump on the deck. Troy Dandridge is currently playing football for the Panthers. Legendary Panthers Head Coach Pat Eidson has over 900 career coaching wins.
Summerville HS – Can the Green Wave make a run this season in Class 5A? Plenty of talent returns to this lineup for Head Coach David Long. Yannick Smith Yannick Smith 6'3" | SG Summerville | 2024 State SC is already off the board and headed to East Carolina University for football next season. Junior guard Melvin Teal Jr Melvin Teal Jr 6'3" | PG Summerville | 2025 State #301 Nation SC really likes to bully defenders with his ability to get the ball to the rack.
Kenneth Brown Kenneth Brown 5'11" | SG Summerville | 2024 State SC and Warren Nelson Warren Nelson 6'2" | SF Summerville | 2025 State SC both play their roles so well on this squad. Brown a sharp-shooter guard can really knockdown shots from behind the 3-point line while Nelson does a little bit of everything. Warren will grab a rebound on both ends of the floor, grab a loose ball, make a shot while constantly bringing a full out effort at all times.
Woodland HS – The Wolverines finished (17-6) last season. The Wolverines will rely on jet quick guard Ty’ree Edwards Ty’ree Edwards 6'0" | PG Woodland | 2024 State SC and Ja’Kease Salley Ja’Kease Salley 6'5" | SF Woodland | 2025 State SC . Edwards averaged 15 ppg while Salley a very athletic wing player averaged 10.9 ppg and 7 rebounds a season ago.
