The highest ranked newcomer in this rankings update, Dzolota was arguably the best player in the gym at our Top 250 Expo last month, putting on a clinic as a ball-handler and playmaker. He has the ball on a string and is in complete control of the game on the offensive end, getting his teammates involved at an extremely high level. He’s a gifted, creative passer who sees the floor as well as just about anyone in the class, and he can score from all three levels when he’s looking to score himself. He shoots it well both off the dribble and the catch. He should be a major factor for Northwest as a junior.
(87) Camryn Lemoine Camryn Lemoine 6'0" | PG Pleasant Valley | 2025 State IA | PG | Pleasant Valley
A tough guard who loves to play downhill and attack the rim, LeMoine uses his quickness and length to his advantage on both ends of the floor. He’s really good on the glass for a guard and he loves to push the tempo after pulling down a defensive rebound. He finishes well around the rim with either hand, and he can finish effectively through contact. He’s a good on-ball defender who moves his feet and he as the strength and toughness to battle against bigger bodies in the paint. He should be a solid role player for a loaded Spartans team as a junior.
(91) Nathan Hills | SG | West Branch
Hills is long and he uses that great wingspan to impact the game on the defensive end, contesting shots and it allow him to defend multiple positions. He moves well without the ball in his hands and is a quality finisher around the rim. He rebounds well on both ends of the floor as well.
(130) Bryce Trilk Bryce Trilk 6'1" | SG Waukee Northwest | 2025 State IA | SG | Waukee Northwest
A 6-1 guard who showed flashes of ability both on and off the ball at our Top 250 Expo, Trilk has a quick release off the catch and is probably a better shooter off the catch than off the dribble at this point. When he’s playing on the ball, he’s a good playmaker who sees the floor well. He’s a strong defender who doesn’t shy away from banging with the bigger bodies in the paint when his team needs it.
(147) Kaleb Wilgenbusch Kaleb Wilgenbusch 6'0" | SG Cedar Rapids Xavier | 2025 State IA | SG | Xavier
A tough off-ball guard who moves his feet well on the defensive end, Wilgenbusch is able to do a little bit of everything for the Saints. He’ll contribute on the glass, keep the ball moving, play solid defense on and off the ball, and knock down open shots.
(154) Lakaden Chestnut Lakaden Chestnut 5'11" | SG Ankeny | 2025 State IA | SG | Ankeny
A quick guard who can attack off the dribble and get to the bucket for finishes or to set up his teammates, Chestnut is able to put pressure on teams on both ends of the floor with his speed. He handles it well and keeps the ball moving on the offensive end, and he does a good job competing and moving his feet defensively. He’s a player who does a little bit of everything.
(161) Koury Serck Koury Serck 6'2" | CG Central Lyon | 2025 State IA | CG | Central Lyon
Serck didn’t get much run with the Lions’ varsity team last season, but he had a good summer with BBA Force, showing the ability to play on and off the ball. When he’s running the offense, he shows good court vision and passing instincts as well as a solid mid-range game off the dribble. He moves really well without the ball in his hands, in constant motion, cutting to the rim and getting easy finishes. He does a good job moving his feet on the defensive end. He should play a big role for Central Lyon following a number of losses to graduation.
(174) Brandon Mathern Brandon Mathern 5'11" | PG Gladbrook Reinbeck | 2025 State IA | PG | Gladbrook-Reinbeck
Mathern is a pass-first point guard who sees the floor well and does a good job protecting the ball. Following the graduation of William Kiburis, the Rebels need to have a lead ball-handler and playmaker step up, and Mathern looks like he may be that guy.
(175) Kale Fank | SG | Emmetsburg
A 6-1 guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands, Fank is part of a good 2025 class at Emmetsburg, a team that should be much improved this season. He’s a good shooter off the catch and a reliable secondary playmaker.
(176) Kelan Koval | PG | Manson Northwest Webster
Kovan impressed for the Cougars as a sophomore, averaging 14.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists a game and showing the ability to score from all three levels. He can create shots for himself well off the dribble and he does a good job contributing on the glass on both ends of the floor.
(177) Nicholas Zrostlik Nicholas Zrostlik 5'11" | CG Garner Hayfield Ventura | 2025 State IA | CG | Garner-Hayfield-Ventura
Zrostlik didn’t play much as a sophomore for the Cardinals, but he played well at our Top 250 Expo and should step into a bigger role as a junior. He’s a quick guard who does a good job playing downhill and attacking the rim. He rebounds on both ends of the floor and is also a solid playmaker who sees the floor well.
(178) Wyatt Snyder Wyatt Snyder 6'2" | SG Pella Christian | 2025 State IA | SG | Pella Christian
Snyder has some potential as a long wing who can contribute on both ends of the floor. He does a good job looking to attack the rim against aggressive closeouts and he can finish effectively at the rim with either hand, as well as through contact. He gets into passing lanes and is an active team defender who understands how to rotate.
(179) Elijah Reid-Scott Elijah Reid-Scott 6'1" | PG Davenport West | 2025 State IA | PG | Davenport West
A quick guard with great handles, Reid-Scott does a good job creating looks for himself and his teammates off the dribble. He has a quick first step and uses a nice hesitation move to temporarily freeze the defense, allowing him to get into the teeth of the defense, where he has a solid mid-range game and good court vision.
