Sumpter made a good job this summer with his play on the Grassroots Circuit and with his high school team. Brian made the move to #17 after being #30 in the last set of rankings.
Sumpter plays the game with a very good motor, and he never seems to slow down while on the hardwood. Brian picked up an offer from College of Charleston back in August. He really can impact a game with his ability to defend around the cup and running the floor on both ends of the court.
Davis brings good versatility to the backcourt for the Bruins. Jarius a guard can really get the ball downhill in a hurry. Davis can play off the ball when needed with his ability to knockdown the jumper from time to time. He has a great wingspan to be disruptive in the passing lanes with picking up deflections along the way.
Jarius is just one of the Bruins on this talented roster that could really make some noise this season in Class 4A. Davis currently sits in at #26 in the class after moving up from #36 in the last set of rankings.
Lay is a virtual unknown still to most of the state. Jones is now attending Atlantic Collegiate Academy in Myrtle Beach. He previously attended Green Sea Floyds HS outside in rural Horry County.
Lay currently stands at #27 after previously being #50 back in the June rankings. Jones already has good size and the ability to play face-up to the basket. He’s a very deceptive athlete on the floor with a very good skill set. Prep Hoops will for sure be watching the Armada play this coming season on the schedule somewhere.
Dukes a left-handed forward reminds you of watching the professor’s game on Friday afternoon at the local college. He plays the game with an old-school approach at times.
Dukes last season averaged 18 ppg at nearby Stall HS before making the move to SCISA Class 1A Riverpointe Christian Academy this fall. Kevin is crafty around the bucket with his way to use his frame and beat off defenders at times. He’s highly effective more and more around the cup finding ways to score the ball. Dukes makes the move up to #38 after being previously #47 in the June rankings.
Franklin has a new address this season at Ridge View HS in Columbia. Darius previously attended Sumter HS while running the Grassroots season with the Carolina Rebels . Darius brings good size to the wing position and the ability to knockdown shots from the mid-range.
Franklin really likes to play his game in the open court with his ability to finish at the basket. Darius comes in at #43 this time around after previously being ranked #51.
Cooley made a strong showing at the SCBCA Elite Camp recently down in North Charleston. Cooley a left-handed forward is a great piece to the Red Raiders roster this season. Roman ran with 1 SC Elite on the Grassroots Circuit.
Cooley can slash to the cup or simply stop and pop from downtown. He plays very active on both ends of the court to make plays happen. Roman makes the cut at #67 this time around after being #89 back in June.
Cherry has good size from the backcourt and a good feel for the game. Brock plays the game with some swagger and confidence for sure. He helped the Hurricanes win a Class 3A State Championship this past season. Cherry had a very solid Grassroots Circuit with Next Level Elite .
Brock is a tough nosed kid who stuffs the stat sheet at times across the board with some points, rebounds, steals, assists and floor burns. At the end of the day, he helps your team win games. Cherry chimes in this time around at #68 after previously being ranked #99.
