This first group are players are ones I mentioned in a previous article for making a spectacular comeback in the second half, after being down by 15 or more at half time. This grouping of players decided they were motivated to win and their march to victory started on the defensive end. Each one of the below players picked up 3/4 court to pressure the ball. With Isaiah Fox Isaiah Fox 6'0" | PG West Allis Central | 2027 WI going above and beyond with a full court press, which resulted in two steals and conversion of two buckets that pierced the opponent’s will.
Jackson Albee Jackson Albee 5'11" Mukwonago | 2027 WI | 5’11” | G | 2027 | Mukwonago | Pro Lane
Jayden Phillips Jayden Phillips 5'11" | PG Nicolet | 2027 WI | 5’11” | G | 2027 | Nicolet | Playground
Isaiah Fox Isaiah Fox 6'0" | PG West Allis Central | 2027 WI | 6’0″ | G | 2027 | West Allis Central | 24UP
A player that didn’t look the part but made his presence felt in a big way. He picked up at least 3 quarter court and was just a menace to the other team. I found myself liking his approach to defense, which turned into pressure offense and production on that end.
Josiah Gonzales Josiah Gonzales 5'9" | SG Grafton | 2027 WI | 5’7″ | G | 2027 | Grafton | Team Haliburton
The one player that brought his high energy and effort to the court on both ends. His impact on court was certainly disruptive with his defense and he has the ability to create offense with his defense. The only player that I listed as the basketball descriptive word as ‘killer’. It was that energy that was at times infectious. Loved his style and approach to the game. He made an impression.
Zamari Whitmore Zamari Whitmore 6'0" | PG St. Augustine Prep | 2027 WI | 5’10” | G | 2027 | St. John’s Northwestern | ABC Young Lions
The player who has probably the highest upside to the defensive end was Maz Jones. This prospect was a big strong athletic force, that was quicker than most others around him. Because of this he was able to use that athleticism to put tremendous pressure on opponents. Then you throw in the fact that he ran the floor faster than others and he clearly told others he was a force to be reckoned with.
Max Jones Max Jones SG State WI | 6’2″ | W | 2027 | West Allis Central | 24UP
The player that could be the biggest force to come in the next few years. Because, of his current size & athletic ability, this prospect could open doors on this end of the floor. Good coaching, good motivation, and a bit of improved technique will all be the determining factor, but I for one could see it in this prospect.
