There is always so many ways on how a player impacts the game or makes a difference for the teammates around them. I think that one of the best ways to summarize someone’s play is in a quick, few words. In the article below I will be covering 5 athletes that participated in this Top 250-Expo and describing their play in just in two words, followed by a small write-up about why those words were chosen for that specific player.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
#218 – Aavron Manning Blanks – 2024 – 5’11 – PG – Spanaway Lake High School
Strong. Crafty.
Blanks is a PG that is very good off of the dribble, getting downhill going toward the basket. At this event he was very hard to stay in front of off of the dribble and once he got to the rim, somehow he always got a shot at the basket. Even over much larger defenders that came from help-side. Everything he did was a strong move out on the floor and when he had to score between two defenders, he was crafty doing it. A good overall showing from Blanks.
#255 – Isaac Elegan Isaac Elegan 5'6" | PG Renton | 2026 State WA – 2026 – 5’7 – PG – Renton High School
Fast. Energetic.
Elegan displayed that he is a fast point guard, that moves as well off of the ball, as he does with it in his hands. He is very good at knowing when he should take his defender, compared to when he should give it up and move to the other side of the floor. You can tell that he is naturally fast with his athleticism but it seems to never stop. Doesn’t matter if it’s his first game of the day or his last. He never gets tired and is aways picking up the teammates around him. Things you love to see from an outside point of view.
#306 – Michael Masini Michael Masini 6'8" | SF Gig Harbor | 2026 State WA – 2026 – 6’7 – SG – Gig Harbor High School
Lengthy. Mismatch.
One of the bigger players competing in this event was Michael Masini Michael Masini 6'8" | SF Gig Harbor | 2026 State WA and he truly brought a lot of length to the floor. It’s hard for me to determine where I would put Masini on the floor as a coach. I’m sure in high school ball he is one of the bigger players out there for his team and that would make him a 3, 4, or 5 but he really likes to step out for a deep three around the perimeter. This has its Pro’s and Con’s but in general, it creates a lot of mismatch situations for himself and his teammates throughout a contest. I’m curious as to how he plays on a high school floor, which is much different than an event like this. He has the natural intangibles to be productive on any floor he chooses, if he is used in the correct way and makes the most out of his opportunities.
#273 – Alex McCleery Brown – 2024 – 6’3 – SG – Northwest Coastal High School
Touch. Awareness.
I didn’t see enough of Brown’s game to be able to break it down by category but in general, I saw that he had great touch on the basketball at this event. Whenever the ball would fall Brown’s way, he would make the right choice to either score it or find an open teammate by the rim. On a number of occasions, the awareness of the situation on the floor was key to scoring or getting a big stop throughout these contests and Brown was always aware.
#283 – Alexander Alexeev Alexander Alexeev 6'4" | PF Sound Christian Academy | 2026 State WA – 2026 – 6’4 – SG – Sound Christian Academy High School
Hustle. Fundamentals.
Someone that won’t kill you with flashy moves but hustle and fundamentals is Alexander Alexeev Alexander Alexeev 6'4" | PF Sound Christian Academy | 2026 State WA . Alexeev keeps his opponent in check in all facets of the game. He tries to outwork him each possession while being a consistent producer on both sides of the floor when he has the opportunity. This is another one of those players that I would really need to see more of, if I wanted to break down his specific game but in general, he displayed a lot of good moments in this event. He moves well and isn’t selfish but also can knock down a shot or three. There was some promising stuff here and I hope Alexeev can build on that going into this high school season.
