Continue ReadingThis time of year is a little quieter when it comes to basketball news around the state of Indiana. We are over a month removed from the grassroots circuit having come to close. Then, looking ahead, most fall leagues don’t start until October. However, the lull in action here as the school year gets into full swing doesn’t mean that the content and coverage stops. That is exactly what separates Prep Hoops Indiana from our competition.
After the grassroots season we updated all of our prospect rankings here at Prep Hoops Indiana. We now have a Top 50 in the Class of 2026, a Top 125 in the Class of 2025, and a Top 150 in the Class of 2024. Additionally, there are nearly 500 total prospects on the three respective Watch Lists and we will soon add nearly 200 prospects to the Class of 2027 Watch List coming out of the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. There will likely be another rankings update before the high school season begins, but first we thought this would be a good time to try a new exercise. Over the next week or so we will be releasing our Top 50 prospects regardless of class in the state of Indiana.
All prospect rankings are hard to do and a very inexact science. That becomes even more true when embarking on a journey like this trying to rank them regardless of class. Do you value the “known” commodity of an older prospect or the “upside” of a younger prospect more? For the sake of this exercise, we tended to lean towards the older guys. Also, we only included IHSAA players in this ranking and didn’t include the incoming freshmen besides one who is very well known as a top prospect. Without further ado, let’s dive in and give this try!
Every year there is obviously a top prospect in the state of Indiana. However, not all of those top prospects are created equally. Bidunga is a generational type of talent that is one of the best, most dominant players that we’ve had in Indiana since Greg Oden. He immediately took Kokomo to the Semi-State as a sophomore after coming to America and then led them to the state finals as a junior. His athleticism and motor at 6’9″ are what separate him completely from other prospects. Bidunga is the best two-way big man in the country.
Jaylan Mitchell

The only prospect from the Class of 2027 that we included in the Top 50 Regardless of Class was this Evansville Reitz product. Mitchell is already considered a Top 5 prospect nationally in the class and it would have been remiss to not include him in this series. He is a 6’7″ versatile wing that has size well beyond his years, the physicality of a forward, and the skill level on the perimeter of a guard. Mitchell had a dominant summer while playing up a year for Brad Beal Elite 15u on the EYBL Circuit.
A consensus four-star prospect nationally, Sisley is one of the most highly sought after Big 10 recruits in the Midwest. The 6’8″ forward is very versatile, is very mobile athletically, and will fit the coveted position of a stretch/face-up forward at the next level. He is a capable catch-and-shoot threat, but is at his best using his athletic ability when attacking closeouts off of the dribble or operating in the open floor. There is a reason why he is ranked as a Top 75 prospect nationally and has been a household name here in Indiana since before he ever played a high school game. Prepare for another big season from him as a junior at Heritage Hills.
The top prospect in Indiana’s Class of 2026, Reynolds III has been on a hot streak of picking up high-major Division I offers of late. Purdue, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M are among the programs already vying for his services. He is a 6’5″ guard that is so fluid athletically and with the ball in his hands. Reynolds III flashes the ability to play point guard with excellent court vision, passing ability, and a high basketball IQ. His overall offensive skill level is very, very high for his age.
Robinson has been a top prospect in Indiana’s Class of 2025 since his freshman season, but really blew up over the summer earning several more high-major offers including some blue blood interest. Kansas has been one of the recent schools to start showing interest and came in to Lawrence North to watch a workout this week. Robinson is a dynamic, explosive guard that can get to the rim off of the dribble as well as anyone in the state. He also is one of the best rebounding guards in the state.
