Then, looking ahead, most fall leagues don’t start until October. However, the lull in action here as the school year gets into full swing doesn’t mean that the content and coverage stops. That is exactly what separates Prep Hoops Indiana from our competition.
After the grassroots season we updated all of our prospect rankings here at Prep Hoops Indiana. We now have a Top 50 in the Class of 2026, a Top 125 in the Class of 2025, and a Top 150 in the Class of 2024. Additionally, there are nearly 500 total prospects on the three respective Watch Lists and we will soon add nearly 200 prospects to the Class of 2027 Watch List coming out of the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. There will likely be another rankings update before the high school season begins, but first we thought this would be a good time to try a new exercise. Over the next week or so we will be releasing our Top 50 prospects regardless of class in the state of Indiana.
All prospect rankings are hard to do and a very inexact science. That becomes even more true when embarking on a journey like this trying to rank them regardless of class. Do you value the “known” commodity of an older prospect or the “upside” of a younger prospect more? For the sake of this exercise, we tended to lean towards the older guys. Also, we only included IHSAA players in this ranking and didn’t include the incoming freshmen besides one who is very well known as a top prospect. Without further ado, let’s dive in and give this try!
Here at Prep Hoops Indiana we’ve been promoting this 6’3″-6’4″ sharpshooter from Zionsville High School as a Division I prospect for over a year now. That came to fruition recently as Western Carolina became Snively’s first offer. He has a consistent outside shooting stroke, good size, and solid ball skill to create off of the dribble as well. Look for him to have a breakout junior season.
Shrewsberry is a move-in to South Bend St. Joseph and is poised to make an instant impact. The 6’3″ Class of 2026 guard is a talented scorer that hit the ground running this summer showing his offensive skill and high-upside on the defensive end of the floor. He is a guy that will look forward to seeing more and getting a deeper evaluation on this winter, but from what we’ve seen this summer he is absolutely one of the better long-term prospects in the Hoosier state.
We’ve been high on Rutland III for a while now here at Prep Hoops Indiana. The recent University of Indianapolis commit is a knockdown three-point shooter that led Indianapolis City Champion Crispus Attucks in scoring last season at over 18 points per game. He is a fluid athlete and very talented in terms of scoring the basketball. Poised to have a great career at UIndy following his senior season.
Book just moved to Westfield in the late summer after previously playing at Oak Hill Academy and on the New Zealand National Team. The talented 6’8″ forward moves well for his size, finishes very well around the basket, and is a physical rebounder. His inside-outside game has translated into an offer from Evansville with plenty of other interest from a variety of levels.
Dunham battled a bit of a shoulder injury over the summer, but he was one of the most productive guards in the state as a junior for Evansville Christian and was good for Indiana Elite on the 3SSB Circuit. He is an excellent playmaker that is a high-assist guy, rebounds well from the guard position, and can shoot it at a pretty high-level. Look for his recruitment to surge a bit as he gets into his senior season.
