Section 7AAAA Rundown
Let’s start this by talking about honesty. I honestly do not know who to pick here. My instincts say Anoka because I think so highly of Peyton Podany Peyton Podany 6'4" | SG Anoka | 2025 State MN and Trey Borchers Trey Borchers 6'2" | SG Anoka | 2025 State MN as players and they are now guards who are upperclassmen. I realize Anoka was four games under .500 and I realize a lot around Peyton and Trey graduated. To win the section will be tough but I think a backcourt like that is massive.
That said, Forest Lake brings back everything and has Owen Waldoch Owen Waldoch 6'7" | PF Forest Lake | 2024 State MN working his butt off all the time. They seem to be a team to look to as winners as well, but then again they only won nine games last year. Then you have Blaine who won more games than Forest Lake and Anoka, and they have a senior backcourt trio that should be very good. They can win this. Or Andover, the defending champ. They lost the backcourt that has us so focused on backcourts, but they have a couple guys ready to prove their worth.
There is Cambridge who really surprised last year going on a run and winning 19 games. That was a fantastic job by all in blue. Duluth East lost so much but they have two young guards in Nyberg and Meyer who are now in charge. Coon Rapids didn’t win many guys but have all their pieces back. Centennial didn’t win much but has their key guys back.
So how do you try and figure out which is going to gel the most? I went with the backcourt that I like best.
