Today, we take a look at part two of some of the top scoring guards in the Central and Western parts of the state.

Brooks is part of a new group that is joining an already talented Hargrave team that made a run to the VISAA Final Four, and he's part of a talented backcourt that will be tough to matchup with. The former Carmel School standout had a big summer with Team Richmond showing his ability to play at different speeds and get to spots where he has a great pull-up in the midrange, he can get to the rim where he's a strong finisher and he can move off the ball where he's a good catch-and-shoot player too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1759729' first='Cameron' last='Mise'] | 5'11” PG | Hargrave 2025

Mise was a standout at Hopewell over the past few years where he helped them become one of the best teams in the Richmond area, and he put on quite a show this summer with Hargrave during the live period where he put up huge numbers. The 5'11” guard is quite literally just a hooper as he can handle pressure and has a great handle to create in isolation and pick-and-roll situations, he is a very good finisher through contact, he can get to spots and create space where he can make tough shots from multiple levels and he's a very good defender too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1259634' first='Gavin' last='Cormany'] | 6'1” PG | Oak Hill Red 2025

Cormany transfers to Oak Hill from Radford where he reclassified to the 2025 class and after showing what he did at Radford over the past few years he's going to have a chance to put up big numbers at Oak Hill this year. The 6'1” lead guard is tough as nails with the ability to play on or off the ball and he's a knock down shooter from deep in both scenarios, he has great footwork on step backs and pull-ups to get into his shot and he changes speeds well off the bounce to get to his spots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494113' first='Camryn' last='Pacheco'] | 6'3” CG | Spotswood 2025

Pacheco put up big numbers as the go-to guy for Spotswood last season earning All State honors, and he played on the ball more showing his ability to get to spots and score it in bunches. The 6'3” combo has good speed and changes directions well off the bounce to get to his spots and he can stop on a dime to pull up, he has good body control on fade-aways and contested shots and he can move off the ball where he is a very good catch-and-shoot guy.

[player_tooltip player_id='1963526' first='Trey' last='Beamer'] | 6'1” PG | Carlisle 2026

Beamer had a huge freshman season for Carlisle breaking the freshman VISAA scoring record and he continued that trend in the EYBL for Team United this summer, and I'm fully expecting him to be one of the top scorers in the state this year. The 6'1” guard has a bag to his game as he can shoot it from beyond the NBA line already with ease both off the catch and off the bounce, he has good wiggle and a tight handle to get into the lane and he has a very good middle game with floaters and pull-ups as well as the ability to get to the rim and finish over bigger defenders.
