As we approach the preseason for high school basketball, we will take a look at some different categories of players and those that excel in those roles in different areas of the state. Today, we take a look at part three of some of the top shooters in the NOVA area of the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956071' first='Adlan' last='Elamin'] | 6'7” WF | Paul VI 2025

Elamin transferred to PVI this summer from O'Connell and shot up from about 6'4” to 6'7” which has made him very desirable for college coaches with his ability to shoot the ball among other things. His long arms and height allows him to get clean looks without much space, he has a quick release and effortless range from deep and he can put it on the deck to attack closeouts or size up defenders and get into his shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494119' first='Landon' last='Harvey'] | 6'4” WF | Battlefield 2025

Harvey is an up and coming wing in the Prince William area who had a good summer with VA Elite and should be a breakout player for Battlefield this season. The 6'4” lefty has great instincts off the ball and moves with purpose to get open, he has good footwork to get into his shot quickly on the move, he makes shots consistently and doesn't need a ton of space to get his shot off and he is an unselfish and high IQ playmaker too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1782690' first='Silas' last='Devonish'] | 5'9” PG | Bishop Ireton 2026

Devonish is one of the top young guards in the WCAC and has really impressed with his ability to score the ball in different ways, and one of those ways is his ability to knock down shots in bunches from deep. He's lightning quick with the ball and he can stop on a dime to leave defenders and create space to get his shot off, he has effortless range from well beyond the NBA line both off the catch and off the bounce and he gets hot quickly that allows him to make tough shots in bunches when he gets it going.

[player_tooltip player_id='1782699' first='Quincy' last='Wadley'] | 6'4” WG | Bishop O'Connell 2026

Wadley is considered one of the top young prospects in the DMV if not the country, as he was named First Team All WCAC as a freshman and showed he's a big time scorer who can knock down shots consistently from deep. The lefty wing can play on or off the ball and knows how to get open whether it's relocating or using screens, he sets his feet quickly and has great form on the move to make shots and he has deep range and the ability to get to the midrange area where he can make shots too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1782684' first='Isaiah' last='Brown'] | 6'0” WG | Westfield 2026

Brown is another young off guard that has made a name for himself with his ability to make shots in different ways, as he puts up big numbers as an all-around scorer and a tough shot maker from multiple levels. He can handle the rock and get to spots where he can create space using his footwork and handle, he makes shots from deep off the catch consistently and he gets to the line often where he converts at a high clip.

[player_tooltip player_id='1963530' first='Marcus' last='Hancock'] | 6'2” WG | John Paul the Great 2026

Hancock is one of the best pure shooters I've seen in the state regardless of class, as he had a breakout performance at the DMV Live where he shot the ball at well over an insane 50% clip from deep. He gets open effortlessly with his ability to move off the ball, he has picture perfect form with great arc and rotation that is the same every time and he has great range and shoots it at a very high clip even well beyond the NBA line.
