At the end of May we had 216 players to rank for the 2024 class and we are now up to 250. We actually have more than 250 but I am putting a cap on each class at 250.

70 players are new and some have moved to different states, focused on different sports, went into the 2025 or even classed up to the 2023 class.

Since the website started, this is the most players that were added for any class ever. The popularity of the prep schools has taken off and the 70 new players is just a microcosm of this.

Of the 70 new players, 16 shockingly fell in the top-25, 28 new in the Top-50 and 35 new in the Top-100.

This obviously means some of the players who were ranked at the top last year saw their ranking drop.

This class of seniors is very important for them to get seen and show out with college coaches watching them if they are interested in playing college basketball. We hope they all do well in fall ball and in the AIA or Prep season.

Our goal at PrepHoopsAZ is to try and recognize anyone who may play college basketball. We will keep searching for new players in preseason camps/events/leagues/Prep Hoops Circuit, Arizona Top-250 EXPO and during the AIA/CAA/OTE/NIBC/EIBC/Grind Session seasons.

1. 50 players have earned a D1 offer so far showing how talented and deep this senior class is. It is easily one of the best classes at the top in the last 10+ years that I can remember including [player_tooltip player_id='994680' first='Jai' last='Anthoni Bearden'], who is turning into one of the better two-way forwards.

2. Five of the players committed with [player_tooltip player_id='1119247' first='Jamari' last='Phillips'] to Arizona, [player_tooltip player_id='1284846' first='Jason' last='Asemota'] to Baylor, [player_tooltip player_id='1123040' first='Anthony' last='Batson Jr'] to Rice, [player_tooltip player_id='1124235' first='Marcus' last='Wilson'] to Washington State and [player_tooltip player_id='1479805' first='Dilen' last='Miller'] to Georgia State.

3. Rankings are based on a lot of things. Production, size for position, college coaches, the eye test, ability to score and defend, instincts, IQ, how a player moves, speed, ball handling, shooting, fundamentals. length and possible upside. It is not the easiest thing to do since not all players play in the same leagues for AAU and HS. They can be in the CAA, Grind Session, EIBC, OTE and the AIA obviously has different levels. Plus AAU teams may play on National Circuits (3SSB, UAA and EYBL) or play on local independent circuits (Pangos, Prep Hoops, WCE, NB16, The Stage and so on). So you put all that information together and create the rankings.

4. Of the 250 players we have 47 PG's, 48 SG's, 37 CG's, 51 SF's, 48 PF's and only 19 C's.
