Dinos Trigonis and his Pangos brand brought together many of the regions best teams – and players – for a combination of showcase games and the loaded Challenge of Champions bracket. In this piece we detail the under-the-radar players who had good performances.
James Bass James Bass 6'8" | C Campbell Hall | 2025 State CA-S , Campbell Hall
Bass transferred in to the Los Angeles-based school from Florida and his size, length and mobility with a motor add an important layer that the Vikings didn’t have prior to his arrival. The 6-foot-8 center changes ends of the floor well and is an active rim-runner who puts pressure on the defense and provides vertical spacing for his guards to get downhill. He still has some work to do on his offensive skill-set but the defensive end is where he makes the biggest difference with his rim protecting and rebounding abilities.
Logan Stewart Logan Stewart 6'5" | SF Pacifica Christian/OC | 2025 State CA-S , 2025, Pacifica Christian/OC
Stewart is a great energy and hustle player on both ends of the floor who not only impacts winning with his intangibles but can get himself a basket when needed. The 6-foot-5 wing can knock down the open catch and shoot three-point shot but is also a capable driver and finisher who uses his length well around the basket.
Malcolm Price, 2027, St. Joseph
The younger brother of St. Joseph star guard Julius Price Julius Price 6'2" | CG St. Joseph | 2026 State CA-S seems to be coming into his own. While still not physically mature enough to be a consistent varsity-level player, Price has great feel for the game with the ball in his hands and doesn’t try to do too much when he gets his chance off the bench. His poise, pace and ability to get the ball to the right guys at the right time bode well for his future at the position.
Myles Walker Myles Walker 5'9" | PG Roosevelt | 2025 State CA-S , 2025, Eastvale Roosevelt
Walker is a super heady player who brings a wealth of IQ and toughness to the floor despite his small 5-foot-7 frame. The junior point guard commands the position well and is constantly looking to set the table for his three talented teammates: Brayden Burries Brayden Burries 6'4" | SF Roosevelt | 2025 State #13 Nation CA-S , Darnez Slater Darnez Slater 6'1" | PG Roosevelt | 2024 State #216 Nation CA-S and Isaac Williamson Isaac Williamson 6'1" | SG Riverside Poly | 2025 State #351 Nation CA-S . Where Walker impacts the game most is on the defensive end. He has quick hands, great lateral speed and just the grit to really pressure the ball and speed up the opposing guard.
Tariq Iscandari, 2026, Corona Centennial
Iscandari is playing behind a handful of talented upperclassmen but he got his chance to play big minutes in Centennial’s final game of the weekend and impressed. The 6-foot-5 wing is an active defender and rebounder with a legit pop of athleticism who, with continued development, has a chance to be a good player down the line.
Tyler Lopez, 2026, Los Alamitos
Lopez drew rave reviews from his high school coach as a player to keep an eye on in that 2026 class. The 6-foot-5 wing/forward is just scratching the surface of his potential but he showed flashes of high IQ play and a combination of defensive instincts and intangibles that can’t be taught. Lopez is definitely a prospect to track over the next three seasons.
