Continue ReadingThe Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club nearly 1500 of the states best Class of 2024, 2025, and 2026 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to the high school season. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 8 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo.
***With nearly 150 prospects at our event, I was able to watch 12 of the 16 teams live. Since the event, I’ve gone back to watch the other four on BallerTV in order to complete all of the player evaluations. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and I will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo!***
When watching Team 8 on Sunday at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo, this 5’8″ point guard from Brownsburg High School got hot from three-point range knocking in three in the game that I watched. Neddenriep hit two on back-to-back possessions with the second one coming from well beyond the arc off of the dribble. Then, later in the game, he knocked in a third three from deep. That shooting ability helps to extend the defense and open up driving lanes for the smaller guard as well.
Highlights
Tommy Caswell Tommy Caswell 5'9" | PG Angola | 2026 IN
Tommy Caswell Tommy Caswell 5'9" | PG Angola | 2026 IN
This smaller, thin guard from Angola High School turned in a solid performance at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo on Sunday. Caswell handles the ball well, did a good job of playing without turning it over, and showed the ability to facilitate offense in the half court for his team. He had a really tough right hand drive and finish along with being a solid on-ball defender. High basketball IQ, hard-nosed backcourt piece.
One of the more dynamic, athletic guards in Indiana’s Class of 2026, Moore had his playmaking ability on full display at our event on Sunday. After averaging 12.2 points and 2.8 assists per game as a freshman at Taylor, this 5’11” guard transferred to defending state runner-up Kokomo for his sophomore season. Moore is so explosive off of the dribble and does a great job of finishing at the end of his drives. Look for his all-around playmaking ability to really raise the level of the Wildkats backcourt this coming season.
Kersey is a 6’3″ athletic wing from Noblesville High School that displayed some good two-way ability on Sunday at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. He has good size on the perimeter, rebound very well on both ends of the floor, and is strong enough to play through contact off of the dribble and finish at the rim. His blend of physical and athletic tools are excellent for his age as he enters his sophomore year.
Robbie Sanders
Robbie Sanders
A 6’0″ guard out of Cardinal Ritter High School, Sanders was unafraid of going against bigger guys and went in amongst the trees to help in the rebounding efforts. He even was able to come up with an offensive rebound putback when crashing hard from the perimeter. Sanders also looked good when handling the ball and was able to find some open teammates for scoring opportunities. Loved his overall hustle and grittiness on the floor.
Deondray Monroe
Deondray Monroe
Monroe is a long, athletic wing that did several little things to help Team 8 at Sunday’s Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. The 6’2″ NorthWood High School product looked comfortable in transition running the sidelines looking to attack off of a throw ahead and was able to attack closeouts in a straight line in the halfcourt. On the defensive end Monroe was able to play in the passing lanes some and was disruptive as an on-ball defender.
Connor O’Guinn
Connor O’Guinn
O’Guinn impressed with his athleticism and well-rounded offensive game. The 6’2″ guard from Bloomington High School North showcased some real shiftiness in the open floor and made some nice plays in transition, used his athleticism to finish a tough layup at the rim, and displayed a quick release on his jump shot. He was able to be productive in a variety of ways offensively and looked like an under-the-radar unsigned senior that deserves some more attention going into the season with the Cougars.
The size and physical tools of this prospect from Southwood High School standout right away and he backed it up with his activity level on both ends of the floor. Wilcox, a 6’7″ center, threw down a dunk on the rim-run showcasing some fluid agility, had a crafty finish with good footwork in the post, and consistently cleaned up the defensive glass. Really intriguing long-term prospect that made his name known in the Class of 2026 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo.
