Continue ReadingThe Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club nearly 1500 of the states best Class of 2024, 2025, and 2026 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to the high school season. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 5 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo.
***With nearly 150 prospects at our event, I was able to watch 12 of the 16 teams live. Since the event, I’ve gone back to watch the other four on BallerTV in order to complete all of the player evaluations. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and I will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo!***
Named one of the top performers from the event, this Center Grove High School point guard impressed early and often with his playmaking skills in the backcourt. Meador is an excellent ball handler and plays with good pace off of ballscreens or in the court. He can knife his way through the defense in transition, get to the paint in the half court, and showed the ability to score consistently from the mid-range. Crafty finisher, good passer, and capable shooter.

Meryck Adams Meryck Adams 6'3" | SF Daleville | 2024 IN
Adams flashed his impressive length and athleticism throughout Sunday’s Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. The 6’3″ wing from Daleville High School brought a great motor to the event which he used to crash the offensive glass and putback a teammate’s missed layup in transition. Then, Adams also rose up and dunked one on a fast break. Look for a big senior season out of this prospect.
This 6’2″ guard from Bedford North Lawrence High School impressed with his two-way ability on the perimeter at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo on Sunday. Short was very active on the defensive end getting some deflections in the passing lanes and playing sold on-ball defense as well. Offensively, he came off of a downscreen into a mid-range jump shot and finished a nice putback in the game I was watching. Good size and strength in the backcourt.
Arguably one of the top prospects at the event, Bell is highly sought after by small college programs and holds a recent Division I offer from Army. It was obvious why he is so heavily recruited on Sunday. The 6’3″ North Central High School guard has excellent size and strength in the backcourt which allows him to get to the rim where he finishes consistently. He is so smooth with the ball in his hands and uses his body well when attacking the paint.

A highly productive forward on this super talented Team 5 roster, McQuigg was relentless on the glass at both ends of the floor throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. The 6’3″ Floyd Central High School product crashed the offensive glass for a couple of putbacks, finished in transition after receiving the throw ahead pass, and displayed an excellent all-around motor. Impressive Class of 2026 prospect down in southern Indiana.
Brandt Martin Brandt Martin 6'3" | SF Warsaw | 2025 State IN

Martin played very, very well at Sunday’s Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. The 6’4″ athlete from Warsaw High School is a very fluid mover at his size, has good length, and flashed some well-rounded offensive skill throughout the event. He knocked in a three-point shot, ran the floor very well in transition, and was a consistent rebounder at both ends of the floor. There is a lot to like both physically and skill wise about him as a prospect. Best basketball is ahead of him.
Yoder has put up some big numbers through two seasons at Woodlan High School and continued to burst onto the scene this summer playing with Indiana Elite Team Indiana 2025. On Sunday, the 6’5″ pick-and-pop, lefty four-man showcased his skills once again. He is a great catch-and-shoot threat at his size, has the skill to attack closeouts and drive it left, and is strong enough inside to finish as well. College programs should start getting involved sooner rather than later.

There were very few, if any, prospects in the gym on Sunday afternoon that had the bounciness and vertical athleticism of this Fort Wayne Bishop Luers product. Kelly has good size and length inside at 6’6″, but moves like a guard out on the perimeter. He is very fluid athletically and can absolutely jump out of the gym which helps him finish at the rim and rebound on both ends of the floor. Look for him to have a strong junior season.
