The Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at Fishers High School nearly 200 of the states best Class of 2027 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to your high school career. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 17 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.

***With nearly 200 prospects at our event, our scouting staff (of three people) divided up the 20 teams to ensure that we could get evaluations of every player. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. Our staff watched each team they were assigned to for a minimum of one full game. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters as well. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and he will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase!***

#14 - [player_tooltip player_id='2140335' first='Brody' last='Wiginton'] - 5'11” SG - New Prairie

Wiginton is a fundamental guard who does a lot of things well. He had a couple of nice drives to the hole with smooth finishes inside.

#244 - [player_tooltip player_id='1690480' first='Aiden' last='Boyd'] - 5'7” SG - Washington

Boyd is a smaller guard, but he is a very consistent shooter. Off the catch-and-shoot, he was money from the outside. I like his game going forward.

#553 - [player_tooltip player_id='2140315' first='Andrew' last='Gerhart'] - 5'4” PG - Cardinal Ritter

Gerhart is a very small guard, but he used his quickness well. His outside shot needs to become more consistent, but he has a lot of other good parts of his game.

#658 - Muri Jackson - 6'0" SG - South Bend Riley

Jackson is a long guard that used his strength well around the basket posting up some smaller defenders. He had a great kick out from the post, crashed the offensive glass, and was active as a help defender contesting shots around the basket.

#688 - [player_tooltip player_id='2140449' first='Trell' last='Hogue'] - 5'11” SG - Fort Wayne Snider

Hogue is a strong guard who has outstanding quickness and ball-handling abilities. He does not hesitate to let it fly from anywhere on the court, and he has a great three-point shot. He also works hard on the defensive end of the floor. I think his future is bright.

#869 - TaeShawn Tilson - 5'10” SG - [program_tooltip program_id='2078452' first='[program_tooltip program_id='2076932' first='Richmond' last='']' last='']

Tilson is a shooting guard, and he played solid minutes for his team this weekend. He is going to play some big minutes for the up-and-coming [program_tooltip program_id='2078452' first='[program_tooltip program_id='2076932' first='Richmond' last='']' last=''] program in the coming years.

#877 - Tarvar Baskerville II - 5'10” SG - New Haven

Baskerville is a fun guard to watch, and he dominated the offensive end all weekend long. He pushed the tempo and got to the rim, but he also had a great shooting stroke and knocked down a big pull-up triple in transitions.

#889 - [player_tooltip player_id='2140397' first='Josh' last='Horton'] - 5'9” SG - [program_tooltip program_id='2078452' first='[program_tooltip program_id='2076932' first='Richmond' last='']' last='']

Horton is a great shooter who showed the ability to make tough shots. He hit a nice step-back jumper, but he also got to the rim and finished through contact. He also passed the ball very well and showed off great court vision.
