Throughout the next couple of days, Andrew Johnson and myself will recap of who stood out from the event and providing analysis on every prospect who attended the camp. This article features the top players who stood out for Team 2:
Diamant Blazi, A 6-8 senior small forward was the absolute MVP on Saturday. Blazi has all the tools to be a complete college prospect as he brings good handles, athleticism and a vicious lob threat. Blazi also brought a lot of length on both ends of the floor as he can rebound efficiently limiting teams from getting second looks at the rim. His effectiveness immediately stood out to the coaches and scouts with his versatility on the offensive end. Blazi will have to build more confidence in shooting from the perimeter to be a complete five-tool player for the next level.
Highlights
Gaige Daugherty, Listed as a 5-10 sophomore guard is very intelligent when he has the basketball in his hands. Daugherty is a pass-first guard where he got his teammates involved on numerous occasions whether they were slashing towards the rim or off the catch. Daugherty also showed his quick release where he has continued to improve from beyond the arc. On the defensive end, he showed a ton of activity where he was getting strips and steals which lead to baskets on the offensive end. Intrigued to see how Daugherty performs this upcoming season as just a sophomore.
Highlights
Donny Yeager, A 6-0 senior guard came to Florida from Michigan and didn’t disappoint with his presence to light it up from beyond the arc. Yeager played very efficiently and showed his high IQ and feel for the game as his decision making continue to improve. Donny continues to rise as one of the top scoring guards in the state of Michigan for the senior class. He has been recruited by multiple D2 schools such as Northwood University who offered him earlier in the week.
Highlights
MJ Yeager, The 5-10 point guard and twin brother of sharpshooter Donny Yeager. MJ played with a ton of confidence shooting across all three levels and showed a ton of energy on the defensive end as well. MJ has shown a ton of growth in shooting the 3-ball as he has the intangibles to become a top-tier prospect at the next level. His shooting from the mid-range have continued to improve as well as he is a dynamic three-level scorer and was named the Player of the Game following Team 2’s second win on the day.
