With so much talent in this class these players are going to have to look outside of Utah to find a spot, although there is a few that might be able to land here locally. Here are a few players that we think should get offered or should pick up some more.
With a few offers Owen is a player that has a lot of upside. He can do so much on both ends of the floor and at 6’5 and a super athlete. He shoots better than his stats show because he doesn’t rely on his outside shooting to score. Owen is not a high volume shooter and on the flip side he gets some high quality shots off. Could really see him staying local if the right school offers, but they need to jump on him quick. Owen is a no brainer D1 kid.
Highlights
Would love for a school like CSI, USU-E, Western Wyoming, Central Wyoming and other NJCAA schools should be all over him. He has D1 skills and he might need to prove it but the kid can hoop. His inside game is fluid and he has some strong moves and can work in the post and the mid-post. Out in the perimeter he can score and get to the rim when he attacks. He has upside and he could really help his stock this coming year.
Jordan is one of the best set up players in the state as he knows how to serve those assist up. He holds a D1 offer from Vermont but schools like Nevada, Cal Poly and maybe Denver should be courting this lead guard. His willingness to play anywhere in the country really helps him as well. Look for Jordy to be playing with a chip on his shoulders this season.
Strong hard working big that can muscle players bigger than him and he can do work on players smaller than him as well. Schools like Westminster, Adams State and Colorado Mesa should be evaluating him as a higher priority player. He is a big body with skills that will only get better at the next level. He runs the floor and defends his tail off.
Long and lanky wing that can shoot. His size is an important note to add because size and shooting is a major priority for teams. he should be a no brainer in the NWAC but could end up at a solid D2.
Saucedo is a guard that can get things going quickly. He can rattle off points inside and out with the skills he has as a true CG. D3/NAIA and NWAC kid for sure. His ability to move over off the ball as he has does at times at JMCHS. Look for him to bolster that stock. A few regional kids have attended Ave Maria out in Florida or a school like Redlands in California.
