A new name to watch, Bowman is a name that I’ve seen on all conference and all state lists, but Saturday was my first chance to focus on his game in person. I was really impressed with his ball handling ability for his size, with some legit creation ability off the bounce at 6’4. Bowman also had a couple stretches of red hot 3-point shooting from off the catch. With his length, Bowman also had a couple steals and scores in transition. I think regional Division III schools should be paying close attention to Bowman this winter.
An opposite example to Bowman, Heiss is a prospect I’ve watched well over a dozen times since his Sophomore season. Continuing to develop as an athlete, Heiss has put in the work in the weight room and it’s been paying off. With his improved explosiveness he can beat players off the bounce easier and is a more dangerous transition athlete. Always been a knockdown shooter, Heiss can fill it up from downtown. A name for scholarship programs to check out at the Division II and NAIA level, it would be a steal if a Division III program can sign him.

The first game of the morning introduced me to Stoneking for the first time. A guard with some real potential to create for himself, Stoneking is a dangerous pull-up shooter who can also attack off the bounce. At times, Stoneking looked unstoppable with quick crossover moves and tough shots off the bounce. Just a rising Sophomore, Stoneking has time to develop and allow the game to slow down. Once that happens, he’ll be more efficient as a scorer and lower his turnovers. Lots of talent on this southeast Ohio guard, name to watch down the line.

A high effort guard, Morgan really gets after it defensively with lots of energy no matter the situation. Despite being undersized, Morgan gives opposing ball handlers trouble with his on-ball pressure. On the offensive end, Morgan makes quick decisions and throws the ball ahead to his teammates to allow them to score before the defense can get set. His most impressive bucket was a scoop layup finish in transition past a shot blocker with a kiss off the glass. Expect a big senior season for Morgan playing arguably the toughest OCC Division in central Ohio.
Preston DeVito

Didn’t get to see much of DeVito but he hit a game winning 3-point in the elam ending overtime period to give his team the victory. The lefty caught the ball off the catch and had no hesitation to seal the win.
