Rylee Dickerson Rylee Dickerson 5’11” | CG Robert C. Byrd | 2026 State WV is a smooth operator for sure. Entering his sophomore year at Robert C. Byrd High School in Clarksburg, Rylee will not only play big minutes but look for him to be a huge contributor as his skill set and athleticism is definitely court-worthy and valuable in the AAA division. We saw Rylee in person at the Big Shots Myrtle Beach Live sessions and were immediately impressed with his speed, anticipation and ability to finish at the rim. Continued skill work and quality time in the weight room could get Rylee into some recruiting talk as soon as next year.
Eli Sancomb Eli Sancomb 6’4″ | SF Wheeling Central Catholic | 2026 State WV will for make his high school basketball debut in 2023-2024 season. Sidelined with injury since last football season, he’s just now getting back to full speed drills in the gym. Son of the super successful D2 coach Danny Sancomb, Eli certainly lacks no skill or knowledge of the game. A long angular 6’4″ currently, Sancomb possesses what I’m told by other coaches are top shelf guard skills to go with that size. Possibly a slow start for this school season but by January, I’d anticipate it to heat up rather quickly and start seeing Sancomb pack stat sheets and box scores.
Zyon Hawthorne Zyon Hawthorne 6’0″ | CG Woodrow Wilson | 2026 State WV has certainly made a name for himself early in his career. Holding a current D1 offer from Radford, Hawthorne looks to lead a talented Beckley based squad deep into the playoffs. Zyon certainly has a D1 skill set along with speed and quickness that is necessary to compete at that level. We should start hearing a lot of chatter about his game once season starts with him being at Woodrow Wilson who has a fairly robust lineup of talent despite losing Braydon Hawthorne to national prep powerhouse Huntington Prep.
Waylon Colistra Waylon Colistra 6'6" | PF Morgantown | 2026 State WV

Waylon Colistra Waylon Colistra 6’6″ | PF Morgantown | 2026 State WV showed us late spring in Bridgeport WV that he was going to be a player as soon as he got the chance. A strong and sturdy 6’5″ frame with a smooth and pure stroke from 3, Colistra leads by example and does it on both ends. He’ll be heading into battle this season for the defending state champions in AAAA as well as a squad that boasts a D1 pg. Very interested to see how his season pans out and where he is able to make contributions as a sophomore. Don’t be surprised if he doesn’t lead the team in scoring and/or rebounding a few times throughout the season.
Alex Starcher Alex Starcher 6’5″ | PG Teays Valley Christian | 2026 State WV will for sure give some crowds plenty of ooohs and aaahs this year. He’s a long slick-shooting guard that uses his body well around the basket. Playing for Teays Valley Christian Starcher will get a few great tests against some out of the area competition that i know some college coaches will keep tabs on. Id anticipate Alex leading his team in at least two statistical categories for the upcoming year.

Braydun Ferris Braydun Ferris 5’11” | PG Tug Valley | 2026 State WV gave fans a few goosebumps this past March while introducing his game to the Charleston Civic Center crowd. Ferris showed every tool in his toolbox while battling in the WV State Tournament for his hometown Tug Valley Panthers. With a couple seniors moving on and taking points with them, look for Ferris to take a larger scoring role on this young and talented Tug Valley team who will likely be the favorite to win Single A in WV.
