On September 9th I attended the Fall League at Central High School. I viewed 11 teams on this day and here were some of the standouts.

We start with the Senior Standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id='994680' first='Jai' last='Anthoni Bearden'] Sunnyslope

One of the fastest rising seniors in the West Coast showed off how unique he is. He defends the post players then will cover a guard up the court with his motor and toughness. He is a good passer and can score from inside and out.

[player_tooltip player_id='1131814' first='Ring' last='Nyeri'] Liberty

A fluid forward is an athlete who covers a lot of ground on defense. He blocks shots, rebounds and runs the floor. He can post up, shoot the three, fall away, get downhill to the rim and will rise up and throw it down.

[player_tooltip player_id='1305181' first='Tommy' last='Randolph'] Pinnacle

A lead guard was a tough cover. He can score downhill with either hand and his spin move with his size is tough to defend. He will steps into threes in rhythm and rips his opponents pockets and then will flush it down easily. He rebounds well in his area, hustles for the 50/50 balls and talks all game long on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1336097' first='Braylon' last='Johnson'] Pinnacle

A versatile power forward does many things well. The lefty can post up, face up to the three and then defend the 1-5 in the AIA. He has good lateral quickness and length to rebound well and steal the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1695248' first='Luke' last='Rehl'] Brophy Prep

A good sized wing is tough and skilled. He is good in traffic as he can ball fake and get to the rim with a burst. He plays with a big motor to rebound. He can hit the catch three with a quick release and brings his hard hat to every game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1421712' first='Camren' last='Houser'] Sequoia Pathfinder

A transfer from Estrella Foothills is a physical guard who loves getting downhill with his build and frame. He rebounds well and can collect steals on defense with his strong hands. He has good open court speed and uses that frame on the break in traffic. He is a sneaky good passer and should be a star for the small school.

[player_tooltip player_id='1138527' first='TJ' last='Clark'] Sequoia Pathfinder

Clark also transferred to the small school from Millennium. He has high skill level with mid-range pull-ups and a soft jumper from the three. His shot is very clean from mid and this is his sweet spot. He rebounds well in his area and uses his length and height to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2171163' first='Gavin' last='Bartlett'] Shadow Ridge

A newcomer for me is a scoring guard who is a deadly three point shooter. He is a catch and shoot three point specialist. He comes with range and a super quick release. He also has a good feel for the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1483886' first='Landon' last='Brewer'] Boulder Creek

A good sized shooting guard is an easy scorer. He can throw it down on the break, hit the catch three and uses his size to get downhill. He will score on put backs and even an occasional hook shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='2171156' first='Aligo' last='Banjo'] Central (Pictured)

A live bodied post player who is a newcomer. He rebounds everything near him with two hands and dunks the ball easily. He can rip thru to score in traffic with either hand. He can step out and hit the three off the catch and will make his free throws.

[player_tooltip player_id='996166' first='Braeden' last='Speed'] Brophy Prep

The true leader of the Broncos this year is Speed. He is their lead guard who controls the game. He can score from fall aways in the post, get downhill in traffic, hit step back and catch threes. He can thread the needle down the court and kick it to his teammates. He will defend anyone on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2171157' first='Jay' last='Ralph'] Shadow Ridge

An athletic high motored but raw post player. He is very active to rebound, block shots and score inside the paint. He runs the court and will just run through a wall to make a play. This is his first year playing organized ball but his effort is high.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494969' first='Owen' last='Bell'] ALA GN

A high motored wing forward is highly competitive. He is a great compliment to the their talented guards. He can score and defend the 3-5. He gets downhill in traffic, hit the three, runs the floor, can dunk it in the lane and will block shots. He earned a lot of respect after his performance versus Sunnyslope.
