Below is Part II in our preview of the teams and prospects who will be participating in the 2023 Competitive Edge High School Fall League.

Berks Catholic

In 2022-23 Berks Catholic won 23 games and captured a District 3-4A title. However, the bulk of their offensive production from last season was lost to graduation. Still, there is no need to panic as 2024 shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1187932' first='Josh' last='McCoy'] and his sophomore phenom brother [player_tooltip player_id='1588135' first='Kingston' last='McKoy'] are extremely capable of getting buckets. Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2226363' first='Parker' last='Nein'] will provide major support for the McCoy brothers. Nein is well known as a lights out 3-point shooter, but his off the dribble scoring and distributing skills are underrated.

Great Valley

Senior wing-forward [player_tooltip player_id='2226461' first='Jack' last='Woodard'] (6'5”) put his name on the recruiting map last weekend at the Never Forget Classic. Woodard displayed the ability to drain threes and score off the dribble through contact. 2025 combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2247399' first='Henry' last='Person'] was just as impressive. Person has can score in the mid-range and sprinkled in a couple triples. These two will be an intriguing pair to watch this fall / winter.

LaSalle CHS

LaSalle is an intriguing team that showed potential at Philly HS Live. Stretch-4 [player_tooltip player_id='1589270' first='Joey' last='Shields'] was a breakout star at that June event. He drained threes and scored close to the rim. 2025 wing prospect Nick Parisi turned heads at Philly HS Live as well. Parisi scored from all over the floor, posting several 20+ point games. Hayes Altomare is a backcourt prospect to watch this fall. 6'8” [player_tooltip player_id='2336705' first='Grayson' last='McKeogh'] is a multi-sport athlete who has flashed serious interior scoring skills.

Pottstown

This fall / winter Pottstown will rely heavily on their wing scoring duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1848538' first='Sadeeq' last='Jackson'] and Abdul Jackson. Both players were 1st Team All- PAC (Frontier Division) selections after the 2022-23 season. Sadeeq was extremely impressive at the Never Forget Classic last weekend. Fellow senior Jurell Young is another perimeter er prospect who can put up double-digits in any given game.

Upper Merion

Thanks to graduation and transfers, Upper Merion is in rebuild mode during 2023-24. The journey starts this fall, and the centerpieces of that effort will be seniors Nick Smiley and [player_tooltip player_id='1178094' first='Allen' last='Cole']. Smiley is a dribble drive wizard who can convert through fouls. Cole uses his high percentage three-point shooting to set up his attacks on the rim. Once he gets into the paints he can score via floaters and lay-ins or execute drive and kick plays.

Upper Moreland

The Bears are an underrated team that feature a balanced scoring effort. On the interior is 6'10” senior [player_tooltip player_id='1192642' first='Sean' last='Murphy']. The big man has a nice bag of mid-range and post moves. He posted an excellent July circuit playing with the Penn Warriors. On the perimeter, UM features the backcourt duo of floor general Alex Best (2024) and shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2391375' first='Colson' last='Campbell'] (2025). Both players can torch opponents from behind the arc and score in transition.

Wissahickon

The Trojans graduated their top two scorers, but with the help of hybrid guard [player_tooltip player_id='2226377' first='Dom' last='Vacchiano'], Wissahickon should rack up a slew of wins in the Comp Edge Fall League. The multi-skilled Vacchiano destroyed opponents at last weekend's Never Forget Classic, as he posted games of 31 and 24 points. Running with Vacchiano will be slasher wing Gabe Lassiter and 3-point sniper [player_tooltip player_id='1226518' first='Brayden' last='Ryan'].
