We have evaluated these players in the fall prior to their freshman season at numerous camps, the high school season, the grassroots season, along with the June high school live periods. It is worth reminding that this is EXTREMELY early in the process. There will be players not on this list in the final top 10 and players in the top 10 that will end up significantly lower as they don’t develop. This is an initial feel for the class with our top 50 prospects.
These are the top 2026 wing prospects in the state of Illinois!
Gabriel Sularski Gabriel Sularski 6'5" | SF Lemont | 2026 State IL (Benet)
Overall Ranking: #1
Sularski earned the nod as the top prospect in our initial rankings after an epic two weeks at Riverside Brookfield and Romeoville in June. Long and angular small forward that has elite skill across the board while also being able to show athletic pop around the rim as well. Great burst on his first step getting downhill for scores at the cup. Nifty finishes maneuvering the ball. Plus three point shooter especially off the catch and is an above average playmaker that sees the floor making the extra pass. Brings defensive versatility being able to check multiple spots.
Jamson Coulter Jamson Coulter 6'2" | SG Rich Township | 2026 State IL (Rich Township)
Overall Ranking: #5
Coulter had a big freshman season for Rich Township. Strong bodied lefty combo guard that can score from multiple levels. Physical downhill slasher that is crafty finishing with power moves at the rim. He can get to the rim with the best of them in the class. Bit of a streaky shot, but has a chance to be a good shooter down the road. Rebounds well for a wing. How much his athleticism improves will ultimately determine his ceiling.
Andre Tyler Andre Tyler 6'4" | SG Simeon | 2026 State IL (Simeon)
Overall Ranking: #7
Long and rangy shooting guard played his freshman season at St Rita before making the move to Simeon after the mass exodus from the Mustangs. Tyler fit right in with a new vamped Wolverines squad in June as he used his athleticism to score off the bounce, has a solid jumper, and when locked in can be a very good defender. Has all the physical tools and we think we saw the killer mindset turn on in May and June.
Amir Danforth Amir Danforth 6'1" | SG Rockford Auburn | 2026 State IL (Rockford Auburn)
Overall Ranking: #8
Danforth is a shooting guard from Rockford Auburn that is related to Fred Van Vleet. Much more than just that as he is a legit top 10 prospect in his own right. Skilled scoring guard that can slide over to point in a pinch. Best attribute is his three point shooting especially off the catch. He has a ton of arc on it! Plus defender that has active hands and plays with a chip on his shoulder.
Davon Grant Davon Grant 6'5" | SF Dekalb | 2026 State IL (Dekalb)
Overall Ranking: #9
We got our first look at Grant in June with DeKalb and liked what we saw. He posted big numbers with the Illinois Wolves in the spring and he has a unique game. Projects right now as a 3/4 that does most of his damage around the hoop. Lefty is so powerful finishing in the paint and a monster offensive rebounder. Jumper flashed, but that is clearly not his strength at this stage. The athleticism and defense also popped as he can defend big men and on the perimeter.
Lincoln Williams Lincoln Williams 6'5" | SF Kankakee | 2026 State IL (Kankakee)
Overall Ranking: #11
Long and rangy small forward that showcased two way ability when we saw him in June. Was dealing with a bit of a back issue so didn’t see him fully healthy, but all the physical tools are there with his length, size, and athleticism. Stood out defensively being very engage on that end of the floor while getting steals and taking them the other way for buckets. Potential as a shooter and to be a solid all-around two way wing.
Charles Barnes (De La Salle)
Overall Ranking: #13
Barnes is a long and wiry small forward that is most effective scoring in the mid-range and mid-post areas. Puts it on the deck with a couple dribbles and has a soft touch from 10 feet in. Excels in transition and where we think he will be best long term is his ability to defend two through fours.
Mason Lockett IV Mason Lockett IV 6'4" | SG Oswego East | 2026 State IL (Oswego East)
Overall Ranking: #14
Lockett is a prospect that doesn’t get talked about a ton, but he could easily move up this board in the coming years. Silky smooth two guard with length and projectability. Plus shot maker that gets into his shot with ease and can score from all three levels. Defensive versatility and being an all-around player is a huge part of the upside here along with all the physical tools he already possess.
Josh Abushanab Josh Abushanab 6'5" | SF Glenbard North | 2026 State IL (Glenbard North)
Overall Ranking: #15
Abushanab has been on our radar for well over a year. He has great size at 6’5” with a strong frame and good athleticism. Like what he brings as a scoring threat especially off the catch as a big shooter. Rebounds well for his position and can be a quality scorer off the bounce. Would like to see the consistency be a little more there to move up this board as he has the tools to be a no doubt top 10 player.
