These guys made it really hard to narrow each team down to just six, but the players mentioned below were key guys in just about every game their teams played. Here is the second-team all-showcase.
Karson Maze Karson Maze 5'10" | PG Mead | 2027 State WA Mead
Maze was one of the players who took control of his team from the jump and stood out as a guy who could incite action on both ends. His burst to the ball on defense and getting around defenders from the triple threat was outstanding. He paired that with a smooth jumper from the outside and played at a consistently high pace throughout the entirety of the games.
Marley Miller Marley Miller 6'0" | CG Edmonds Woodway | 2027 State WA Edmonds Woodway
Miller was simply dynamic at the showcase. He shot lights out, made the hustle plays time and again, pushed the pace, and made a concerted effort to set up teammates and get others going. It was really an impressive showing and Miller came through with an all-around game that helped him affect each outcome from start to finish.
Micah Ili-Meneese Micah Ili-Meneese 6'3" | CG Rainier Beach | 2027 State WA Renton
The Renton guard has a very distinct style of play that exudes toughness and finesse. He was a mainstay in and around the paint, showing the focus and strength to finish shots around a lot of bodies inside. He’s got a pretty good handle on the ball too and was able to create a lot of opportunities in close by working his man off the bounce.
Leon Heilman Leon Heilman 5'10" | CG Timberline | 2027 State WA Timberline
Heilman plays with an unstoppable motor and was seemingly always on his way to the hoop. He spots lanes well on the break to weave through defenders and either get all the way to the basket or draw the defender his way and drop off an assist at the hoop. He had great anticipation and got a number of steals too, and his quick reactions helped him get the beat on defenders from the perimeter all day long.
Zion Stone Zion Stone 6'0" | CG O'Dea | 2027 State WA O’Dea
Stone’s game is just like his name, rock solid. He’s got an outstanding ability to control his movements, switch up the pace and rhythm of his attack, and maneuver around defenders to get to his spots. He was ultra-efficient around the hoop and in the mid-range, showing confidence and patience with the ball but an aggressiveness up the floor that helped him get in one-on-one situations.
Devin Freeman Lake Stevens
Freeman was one of the top slashers from Saturday and had an uncanny ability to get downhill with some shake. He had a lightning-fast first step but still had the body control and balance to throw a quick fake or hesitation at the next defender and get to the hoop unscathed. His ability to shake a defender while maintaining speed was eye-popping. He also had the wear with all to keep his eyes up and see the passing lanes open up underneath for easy two’s.
