Continue ReadingI loved what I saw out of Jerron on Sunday. The smallest player on the floor, Wilson is an absolute jitterbug with his quickness and non-stop energy. Only a sophomore, Wilson knows what it takes to standout as an undersized guard. He crashed in for rebounds, set up teammates and was a pesky on-ball defender. Offensively, he scored downhill and mixed in a one-dribble pull-up. Jerron tallied 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals. I’m eager to see if he can repeat his performance.
Simon showcased a lot of tools against East Paulding. A potential late bloomer, I could see small schools checking in on Triston if he is able to play at a consistent level. Standing around 6-foot-4, Simon is long and athletic. He is a versatile defender that can be moved inside and out. Triston is active in the paint, a springy rebounder and quick shot blocker. He posted 4 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 4 blocks. The physical traits are intriguing.
Isaac flashed with some impressive games last year in the fall league. He got his second season kicked off with a bang, dropping in 21 points. What might be most impressive was how he scored. It wasn’t just open threes, Plavich worked the mid-range and was able to get to the bucket. You can see the physical growth of Isaac, steady at work in the weight room. Plavich will be relied upon heavily as a junior.
The moment of the week came via Kaden Thomas Kaden Thomas 6’5″ | SF Whitewater | 2024 State GA . Whitewater ripped off the final seven points of the game in just over a minute after trailing Woodstock 43-38. Thomas drilled a three at the buzzer to stun the Wolverines. Kaden is a long and bouncy wing. He liked to handle the ball on the perimeter and looked to get to his jump shot. With his wingspan, Thomas could become a value defender. He put up 11 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block.
Don’t let the routinely sub-.500 record fool you. There is talent in the hallways of Woodstock. Now a sophomore, JJ will be an important piece of the building project under new coach Eric Blair. Feuerstein is small, but he’s got a pure stroke and can create offense, breaking down defenders to get space to fire from deep. JJ knocked down a pair of threes and finished with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
