The PrepHoops Oregon Freshman Showcase took place on Sunday and our coverage of the event continues. This week, we will take a look at our scouting notes for each individual roster, breaking down this huge crop of talent from around the Pacific Northwest, player-by-player. Here's a look at Team Two.

[player_tooltip player_id='2132804' first='Shay' last='Thompson'] (2027 Sunset)

Intriguing with his length, athleticism, and developing skills. Defense ahead of his offense at this point, utilized his aforementioned length to block/alter shots and disrupt passing lanes. Banked in some jumpers to keep the defense honest.

Jaxx Kresner (2027 Sprague)

Role playing wing/forward that wasn't afraid to get physical in the paint. Picked his spots on offense, largely spotting up for jumpers and showed off a pretty good touch. But usually looked to make the extra pass and keep the offense moving while also focusing on grabbing rebounds and setting up in good position on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2132786' first='Gunner' last='Engen'] (2027 Clatskanie)

One of the smaller and younger-looking players at the event, but held his own, particularly on the defensive end. Played hard, took care of the basketball when he had it, and sought to play team basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2132807' first='Xander' last='Kekaualua'] (2027 Mountainside)

Hard-nosed, well-built lefty guard. Made it a mission to get to the hoop, using a strong dribble and his strength to overpower defenders in the paint. Got to the line often and converted the free throws. Didn't shoot many jumpers but made a handful. Great motor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2132780' first='Alex' last='Lugo'] (2027 Milwaukie)

Tough frontcourt performer who was willing to do the dirty work on the boards and defense. Fairly solid build and wasn't afraid of physical contact in the least. Solid looking shot, especially from mid-range.

[player_tooltip player_id='2026871' first='Darius' last='Andrews'] (2027 Centennial)

Alpha dog leader type on both ends of the floor. Could not be stopped getting to the basket, often to his strong left hand, and finished well around the rim. Made a number of jumpers as well. Really got after it on defense and wasn't afraid to take on anyone. One of the top talents in the entire event.

Carter Soucy (2027 Mountain View-WA)

Versatile offensive player. Pretty nice looking outside jumper with range, but was particularly effective with one or two-dribble pull-ups. Handled the ball well and capably found open teammates for scores.

[player_tooltip player_id='2132805' first='Tanner' last='Frieze'] (2027 Creswell)

Good shooter. Liked to spot up on the wings and corners for threes but moved well without the ball for additional opportunities. On the small side but wasn't afraid to mix it up inside. Good effort as a perimeter defender. Got hot in the last game of the day, scoring 16 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2132806' first='William' last='Maina'] (2027 Wilsonville)

Didn't get a lot of opportunities to shoot the ball, but handled it well and played turnover free basketball. Hustled hard on defense. On the smaller side but wasn't afraid to go inside and was fouled on the last play of one game which led to his game-winning free throw.

[player_tooltip player_id='2132789' first='Josh' last='Ortiz'] (2027 Grant)

May not have gotten to touch the ball a lot, but seemed fine with giving good effort, especially on the defensive end. Good quickness and appears to have solid court smarts, dishing out a couple of nice-looking assists.
