Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase Evaluations: Team 8

The Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at Fishers High School nearly 200 of the states best Class of 2027 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to your high school career. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 8 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.   ***With nearly 200 prospects at our event, our scouting staff (of three people) divided up the 20 teams to ensure that we could get evaluations of every player. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. Our staff watched each team they were assigned to for a minimum of one full game. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters as well. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase!***   [player_tooltip player_id='2140324' first='Bles'sed' last='Thomas'] (Pike):   Thomas was the freshman I was most impressed with over the weekend. He was the best on-ball guard at the showcase and got through the defense so easily. Had great handles and was able to create for himself very easily. Can shoot the ball a little too. Ball does stick with him a little too much right now, however.   [player_tooltip player_id='2140404' first='Kayden' last='Hobdy'] (Perry Meridian):   Hobdy is a super small guard whose size does limit what he can do right now. Will need to see him again in order to get a better evaluation.   [player_tooltip player_id='2140331' first='Braylin' last='Fertil'] (Snider):   Fertil is a freshman that plays with a good amount of explosiveness already. Had strong baseline drives and rebounded well.   Destin Martzke (La Porte):   Martzke got down the floor very well and was also one of the better rebounders I saw on the day.   [player_tooltip player_id='2140370' first='Gunner' last='Lubbehusen'] (Heritage Hills):   Lubbehusen is a lanky guard that has potential to play off the ball well. Like his length at the two guard spot.   [player_tooltip player_id='2140385' first='Jake' last='Means'] (Crown Point):   Means is a freshman with a strong lower body. Played very tough defense.   [player_tooltip player_id='2140314' first='Andrew' last='Bowman'] (Greensburg):   Bowman is a taller player for his age. Needs to play with consistent aggressiveness more often.
