There were some very talented basketball players in the gym and the competition was fierce. One of the most impressive things that I saw at the event was the amount of shooters in the building. Let’s take a look at some of those shooters.
Pleyer looked really good in all aspects of his game on Saturday, including his jumper. True story, he had multiple triples before I was even able to get my notebook out of my bag and sit down. He’s so much stronger than last year and was able to shred off contact and get shots.

When you attempt to break a world record for 3 point shooting, you’ve got to be pretty good. Well, Yeager is way better than pretty good. His jumper looks so pure that you kind of expect it to go in every time it leaves his hands.

Goines stood out to me right away at the David Barnes Showcase. He was constantly moving, working hard without the ball and repositioning himself in open space. This paid off for Goines as he hit a catch and shoot 3 early in the day.
McGarry was very impressive at the David Barns Showcase. He’s a well rounded and versatile guard that showed he could play on and off the ball. McGarry proved to be a big threat to find space and get off a clean look off the catch when playing the 2.
If the state of Michigan had a 3 point shooting contest, there’s a very real possibility that the top 2 might have the last name of Yeager. Donny’s jumper stands alone, and honestly, it has the look and feel of a big time elite shooter. College coaches are going to want to see it in person like we all did at the David Barns Showcase.

Buza looked like a player to watch as we approach high school season. He’s an athletic shooter that can get the ball out and off pretty quickly. Buza has the ability to create off the bounce which helped him get space and looks at the rim.
Kozel was quite frankly one of the most impressive players in the building. He really stood out as a top notch shooter. Kozel showed in the gym range and really showed that he can be a physical shooter that shreds off contact for looks at the bucket.
