1.) 2025 Spencer Roeder Spencer Roeder 6'5" | PF Maquette Catholic | 2025 State IA (Marquette Catholic) – 48.3% (43/89)
Roeder enjoyed a breakout sophomore year for the Mohawks, averaging a team-high 12.9 points along with 6.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.6 steals a game. At 6-5, he has good size as a combo forward who can score inside, provide defensive versatility, and, as he showed last year, stretch the floor at a high level.
2.) 2025 Mason Bechen Mason Bechen 6'1" | PG North Linn | 2025 State IA (North Linn) – 47.0% (54/115)
The Lynx were loaded with shooting last year, but Bechen was the most efficient of the bunch, knocking down 47% of his attempts from deep. He’s a quick lead guard who can score from anywhere, and is probably the best shooter off the dribble of any of the players on this top 10.
3.) 2026 Isaac Jones (Janesville) – 43.8% (32/73)
Jones is tiny, listed at 5-1 last season as a freshman, but he does a really good job moving without the ball in his hands, helping free up some space to get his shot off. He provided a spark off the bench last season for the Wildcats, contributing 5.3 points a game while shooting it at a high clip.
4.) 2024 Breckyn Betenbender Breckyn Betenbender 5'10" | PG North Linn | 2024 State IA (North Linn) – 43.8% (49/112)
Betenbender was really good as a role player last season for the Lynx, buying into his role as a shooter and defender. He has a pure stroke and quick release off the catch and plenty of range that helps space the floor for this group.
5.) 2026 Braiden Todd (South Winneshiek) – 43.1% (25/58)
Another player who made an impact as a shooter last season as a freshman, Todd chipped in 8.6 points a game for the Warriors, starting 8 of their 20 games. Following several key graduation losses, he’ll step into a much larger role as a sophomore.
6.) 2025 Tatum Wilken (Akron-Westfield) – 42.9% (27/63)
Wilken was far and away the Westerners most efficient shooting threat last season, knocking down nearly 43% of his attempts for a team that shot just 28.4% (25.7% without Wilken’s shots included). Needless to say, his shooting is extremely valuable for this group.
7.) 2024 Hunter Hughes Hunter Hughes 6'3" | PG WACO | 2024 State IA (WACO) – 42.2% (38/90)
An efficient scorer, strong playmaker, and tenacious defender, Hughes was WACO’s best all-around player last season, helping lead the Warriors to a 21-2 record by averaging 15.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.3 steals a game on 52-42-67 splits. He’ll shoulder an even bigger load this winter following five key losses to graduation.
8.) 2025 Gage Semple (Lawton-Bronson) – 40.4% (57/141)
Semple led the Eagles in scoring last season as a sophomore, putting up 13.6 points a game. He’s a pure shooter who can play with or without the ball in his hands and he shoots it equally well off the dribble or catch.
9.) 2024 Aiden Klostermann (Central City) – 40.4% (61/151)
Klostermann raised his 3-point percentage by 10 percentage points from his sophomore to his junior years. The work that he put in on his shot paid off huge dividends for the Wildcats, who won 15 games after winning just six in the previous two years combined.
10.) 2024 Aiden Flathers (Exira-EHK) – 40.2% (47/117)
Flathers pairs with Cash Emgarten to give the Spartans one of the best backcourts in southwest Iowa. Emgarten is the team’s slasher, while Flathers is a knockdown shooter who showed a lot of potential as a secondary ball-handler and playmaker last season as well, dishing out 3.1 assists a game.
