ZyMiere Dempsey ZyMiere Dempsey 6’2″ | CG Bertie | 2025 State NC is a 2025 name that hopped onto the PrepHoops NC radar this past season with Bertie High. He’s a 6-foot-2 guard that put up 9.8 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 3.5 APG and 2.7 SPG as a sophomore this past season while shooting 49 percent from the field and 35 percent from deep. He showed he could be an instant spark of offense off the bench this past grassroots cycle with the East Coast All-Stars. He’s got a smooth game and does well to work with ease off the bounce to make things happen when the ball comes his way. He’s a name due to grow in the 2025 rankings very soon when they update in September.

Nolan Billings Nolan Billings 6’5″ | PF New Hanover | 2025 State NC is a name on the Watch List that’s shown his growth this grassroots cycle with Flight 22 out of the Wilmington area. He’s a name at New Hanover High that’s set to contribute along with a number of other 2025 prospects in their rotation that are already in the rankings. He averaged 9.2 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 1.3 APG and 1.1 SPG this past season as a member of the Wildcats in 2022-23. He’s a versatile prospect that’s shown he can operate on the interior on both ends as a rebounder and defender in the paint and knock down shots at volume on the perimeter. Look for him to take some of the pressure off some the other talent in their lineup given his abilities on the floor.
Eli Griffin Eli Griffin 6’1″ | PG Brevard | 2025 State NC is a name to get to know in the Western NC area out of Brevard High given his prowess out of the backcourt. He’s shown he deserves a spot in the rankings off the watchlist given his ability to play either guard spot. He had a strong outing as a sophomore this past season with 14.2 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 2.6 APG and 1.6 SPG as a breakout for them. He’ll look to return and make even more of an impact with his ability to get to the painted area and finish in traffic as well as defend on the opposite end.
Zach Peterson Zach Peterson 6’9″ | PF Asheville Christian Academy | 2025 State NC is a sizeable name to get to know on the Watch List out of Asheville Christian Academy. He’s a 6-foot-9 big man that’s starting to show off his growth in the painted area as a finisher, rebounder and rim protector. He’s gotten a lot more aggressive at attacking the basket and showing that he can operate at multiple roles with his mobility on the hardwood. He did work on the grassroots scene with NLPB WNC Elite as a presence in the paint and on the wing. As he puts on more size in the weight room, look for his ranking to grow as well as his stock on the recruiting trail.

Rylan Parkins Rylan Parkins 6’7″ | PF McDowell | 2025 State NC is another prospect on the 2025 Watch List out of McDowell High that’s starting to draw attention from PH NC into the rankings. He’s a versatile forward at 6-foot-6 that’s shown he can stretch the floor with his perimeter shooting ability and ability to create out of the post. He produced 15.8 PPG for McDowell High on the varsity scene and returns looking to show his growth after a productive grassroots scene with NLPB WNC Elite. He’s shown he’s ready to have quite the breakout season in the Western region in the class.
