This class took a hit with several top ten players opting to leave for prep schools but the class still has a good depth of talent in it. Here’s a look at the best post players in this update.
Ben is a bruising post with the ability to pull down double figure rebounds every game. Mukadi is well built and a good athlete whose second jump is a quick one. At 6’8, Ben offers rim running offense and some ability to score around the bucket. On defense, he’s a good rim protector and above average rebounder.
One of the most skilled players in the class, Young is a fantastic passer and has a full compliment of post moves. Cannon is a good two rebounder who attacks the glass with both hands and is becoming a more confident three point shooter. Long term, if he can become a better man to man defender, Cannon should be a scholarship level player.
Lual is still a bit of a mystery in Kentucky as he plays for one of the smallest schools in Kentucky and hardly plays AAU. With the size and length Ayiei possesses, he’s a super intriguing prospect who offers rim protection and finishing ability. If he plays AAU next year, he could earn D1 offers thanks to his size, length and athleticism.
Campbell fell down the rankings due to him switching his emphasis from basketball to football. Javeon is a talented post who knows how to use his body to score around the rim. Back in the spring, he decided to stop playing AAU and focus on football. Regardless, Javeon is going to be a force for Western Hills the next two years.
Another player who slipped due to sitting out the AAU season, Graham offers some versatility that he doesn’t get a ton of opportunity to show in the system at Saint X. Krezmien is capable of playing with his back to the basket, facing up from the elbow or ripping a rebound and pushing the break. Look for a potential breakout for Graham this season.
