Expert Analysis

Super skilled, Young has had a big Senior season and has Clinton County in the mix to win the 4th region. Cannon is polished around the rim and is an excellent passer out of the high post.

Clinton County is undefeated and Young is the biggest reason why individually. One of the best passers I’ve seen from the center position, Young can swing the ball across the court using either hand. Also a tough guy to keep off the offensive glass, Young swallowed up a few offensive rebounds to give his team extra possessions. Mix in some soft touch in the 8-12 foot range and Young is a mismatch nightmare for opposing defenses.

When it came time to pick camp MVP, Young got multiple votes for the best player at camp. Cannon was able to bully opposing defenders around the rim but also hit five threes in his first 5 on 5 game of the day. Cannon is one of the best available Seniors in Kentucky and showed why on Saturday.

The biggest prospect at the camp, Young showed off advanced playmaking and passing skills when operating out of the post. Cannon didn’t force his offense and was solid on defense. Young has slimmed down and was moving better on Saturday and that will make a big difference for him in the July AAU season.

Super skilled on the offensive end, Young was a top big man this season and has started picking up college interest. With a big AAU season on the horizon, Cannon’s prospect ceiling ultimately depends on how effective he can be on the defensive end.

The most skilled big man in the 25 class, Young is a high level passer with polished post moves and the ability to face up as shoot a little as well. Cannon lacks ideal athleticism at the 5 spot but has good body control and is an above average rebounder, pulling down over 10 per game.

Cannon was the best “big” at the event but he also showed off a nice jumpshot from range. Evolving from more of a 5 man to a stretch 4, Young has a lot of skills and is a willing passer. He needs to improve his finishing as he often missed his first shot at the rim and scored the putback. Expect Young to be a double-double machine for Clinton County this season.

is one of the many great players in the fourth region. He has a great touch in the paint and is fundamentally sound. Young is a player you want to have on your team. With a Clinton County roster that had four double digit scorers last season, Cannon played team basketball and does what it takes to win.

One of the most skilled players in the class, Young is a fantastic passer and has a full compliment of post moves. Cannon is a good two rebounder who attacks the glass with both hands and is becoming a more confident three point shooter. Long term, if he can become a better man to man defender, Cannon should be a scholarship level player.
