Continue ReadingJJ Semanko JJ Semanko 6'4" | SF Hopkins | 2025 State MN – Semanko is a 2025 six-foot-four-inch guard from Hopkins playing for Lockdown AAU this spring and summer. Semanko has the ability to score off the dribble, is a threat away from the ball, and can make plays for teammates as a secondary ball handler. He’s a threat in transition to getting to the rim with his aggression. Defensively he has a longer frame that enables him to block shots and poke away balls for steals.
Brody Wishart Brody Wishart 6'2" | SG Buffalo | 2024 State MN is a 2004 six-foot-three-inch guard from Buffalo and played most of the 2023 spring and summer with Real Phenom (one tournament with MN Comets). Wishart has top notch BBIQ with the ball passing from the perimeter and a help defender. The lefty shoots the ball at a high clip from the outside, and is very dangerous from the corners, and can make a large number of 3’s in bunches.
Azayah Washington Azayah Washington 6'2" | PG St. Cloud Apollo | 2025 State MN is a 2025 six-foot-two-inch guard from St Cloud Apollo. Washington is dynamic in one-on-one situations, especially off the dribble. His dribble pull-up from mid-range and 3 keeps defenders on their toes. When defenders over-commit, Washington uses quickness to get to the basket. Help defenders generally rush to stop his dribble, Washington is aware to make the right passes to open shooters.
Eli Schroeder Eli Schroeder 6'1" | SG Shakopee | 2025 State MN is a 2025 guard from Shakopee. The six-foot-one-inch guard has a quick trigger solid mechanical shooting stroke from the outside. Schroeder’s form has the dip, and nearly every time he shoots it is the same motion. Any tiny bit of room and sight to the rim, Schroeder can get his shot off.
Brogan Madson Brogan Madson 6'1" | PG Mankato East | 2025 State MN is a 2025 guard from Mankato East. The six-foot-one-inch guard did something in a game you don’t see too often in AAU, 12 assists. On AAU teams you usually have multiple ball handlers or a lot of one-on-one that are baskets unassisted. In a game however this summer, Madson assisted on 12 makes for the MN Select team. Madson did it with a variety of passes, like one ahead for a breakaway dunk or ahead for a transition lay-up. His constant he up, attempting to push pace puts defenders on their heels in retreat. With all the assists don’t let that fool you, Madson will put the ball in the basket as well from all three levels.
Ezekial Austin is a 2025 guard from Albany. The six-foot guard I got to watch a good number of times this spring and summer. A lot of that time the ball was in his hands running the show for the MN Comets Elite. Austin is crafty around the rim with the ball making off-balance lay-ups, and using fakes to give himself room for finishes. On the perimeter he has a smooth shooting stroke, and is very well versed in screen actions. If defenders miscommunicate or calculate the move Austin is about to make, he’s either blowing by with the right hand or pulling up a shot with no defender.
Talan Witt Talan Witt 5'10" | PG Alexandria | 2026 State MN is a five-foot-ten-inch guard from Alexandria. The soon to be sophomore 2026 guard is a crafty perimeter scorer. Plays with a quick pace and uses his speed to get early, good looks on offense. Aggressive scorer in this situation with a strong outside game. Unselfish, shares the ball, and has good enough vision to find teammates open.
