It culminates in one stark Real ‘ last=”]ity. This field is BIG. Consequently this list of superlative skill sets is by no means meant to be comprehensive. Just the best of what I saw from a full Saturday of action.
Best Shooter: Drew Daoust Drew Daoust 6'2" | PG Southern Door | 2025 State WI 6-0 2025 Southern Door (WI) (pictured) If you have been a regular reader or follower of the Prep Hoops Circuit. This placement should not be surprising. The Green Bay Area guard can shoot with anyone. Showed it on Saturday in taking down an EYBL squad that was playing up an age division. However it’s way he does it that is most impressive. Is not just some small guard jacking 30 footers from all over the court. Scores from the mid range just easily from three. Despite being a point guard. Moves extremely well when playing off the ball. Has no problem getting his shot off when he needs to against bigger defenders. Had 22 points in the aforementioned victory against Meanstreets. Followed that up with a 25 point outing. Big time shooter, scorer, and lead guard prospect to watch in the class of 2025.
Best Athlete: Kamarian Mayfield 6-2 2024 Quitman (MS) There is a time honored non analytic way to measure a player’s athleticism. Watch him play, take notes, then take a guess on how big he is. After watching this Mississippi wing repeatedly explode to the rim. I would have had himslotted him in at least 6-4 or even 6-5 range. The program says 6-2. That’s not how he plays. As you will see below. His Saturday afternoon opponent Real ‘ last=”] Basketball. Featured a big time rim protector. Did not deter Mayfield at all. Had several impressive aerial displays. Both in the half court and in transition. At times looked like he was playing on trampoline. More than just a leaper. Displayed a solid all around game as well. With a solid handle and pure jumper.
Best Rebounder: Evan Haverkamp Evan Haverkamp 6'9" | PF McBain | 2024 State MI 6-8 2024 McBain (MI) Like Daoust, if you have been a regular reader you know where this one is going. The old school post from rural Northern Michigan has the size and instincts to rebound with just about anyone. Has a wide but very athletic frame that he is not afraid to throw around. Real ‘ last=”]ly had his way down low against a small but very good Jackson Blue Devils squad out of Mississippi. Once secures the ball knows what to do with it. Displays a soft touch around the basket. Dropped 25 points in both Saturday outings. Used a power dribble that is Real ‘ last=”] power dribble. Allows him to create a lot of space on the block.
Best Post Potential: Kaden Williams 6-9 Southside Batesville (AR)
Best Ball Handler: Keith McAllister 6-0 2024 Muskegon Orchard View (MI) The behemoth that is the Big Red Machine sucks up a lot of the lakeshore heard atten
