The team that will start with a bullseye on their back will be Alta. The reigning 5A Champions return a lot of players including this crazy good duo in Ace Reiser Ace Reiser 6'0" | PG Alta | 2024 State UT and Jaxon Johnson Jaxon Johnson 6'8" | SF Alta | 2024 State #106 Nation UT . These two studs have been balling this Summer and they will be tough to stop, but you also have some young players making strides like Dash Reiser Dash Reiser 5'9" | CG Alta | 2026 State UT and Zack Peapke who have been playing well this summer. Carter Doleac Carter Doleac 6'8" | PF Alta | 2024 State UT is much improved so this team is likely going to be the favorite.
Orem was able to convince the UHSAA to stay in 5A and they have a team of young players that can make some noise. They will be lead by Anthony Felesi Anthony Felesi 6'6" | CG Utah Prep | 2026 State UT who is a dynamic playmaking guard. Kai Wesley Kai Wesley 6'8" | PF Orem | 2026 State UT will be a much improved player on the blocks and you will also see a sharp shooting Chance Dastrup Chance Dastrup 5'10" | PG Orem | 2025 State UT as well. They have a new piece to the puzzle as well as they will be guard heavy but they will be good at guard.
Timpview will be tough as they look to build around a very good prospect in Dean Rueckert Dean Rueckert 6'7" | SF Timpview | 2026 State UT , they will have some size and some nice guards that will score out in the perimeter.
Olympus is likely one of the most dangerous teams in 5A as they will be playing motivated, motivated to get back to the top and they are lead by Harvard bound SG Dutch Dowdell Dutch Dowdell 6'6" | SG Olympus | 2024 State #310 Nation UT and elite PG Jordy Barnes. This team will run and gun all day and if you are not ready they will shoot you out of the gym. They will be fun to watch.
Highland is a team that could explode this year. They have young and veteran size with George McKonkie and Soren Ries Soren Ries 6'8" | PF Highland | 2026 State UT . They have guard play and a lead PG that has been on the rise in Isaiah Drisdom Isaiah Drisdom 6'0" | PG Highland | 2026 State UT . Watch out for the Rams, they’re hungry.
Woods Cross might have lost a few of their best players but they will compete, watch out for Hunter Jackson Hunter Jackson 6'3" | PG Woods Cross | 2025 State UT . Another team in the same boat is Skyline who will also have a new look but Landen Shaw will be tough.
Bountiful is a sleeper team with Carson Smith Carson Smith 6'6" | CG Bountiful | 2024 State UT and Charlie Smith Charlie Smith 6'5" | SG Bountiful | 2025 State UT out on the floor. Carson will be a stock riser and Charlie can shoot lights out.
Hunter will play with a chip on their shoulders and yu will get great play from Dominic Phannoloath and Zaquel Cossa Zaquel Cossa 6'0" | SG Hunter | 2024 State UT .
Springville has something up their sleeve with Jamyn Sondrup Jamyn Sondrup 6'10" | C Springville | 2026 State UT a player that will be tough to stop and new transfer coming in that will compliment Mason Hansen Mason Hansen 6'1" | SG Springville | 2026 State UT . Luke Nadauld Luke Nadauld 6'2" | PG Springville | 2024 State UT will be a prospect to watch as well.
