Continue ReadingJyson is a name thats starting to gain attraction everywhere he goes. One of the most dominating players in 16u this weekend did it all using his skillset and frame. He has great ball handling skills as he continues to show you when he crosses over and get to his shot for his pull up. His jumper is so smooth you encourage him to look for his own shot because of how easy it makes scoring look. If you are a smaller guard you can almost expect him to shoot right over you and if you’re bigger than him he will just blow right by you and finish through contact.

Jayden Brown Jayden Brown 5’7″ | PG Andover Central | 2025 State KS is a quick scoring guard that can fill up the stat sheet in a heart beat all he needs to do is see one jumper go in. Brown can shoot it from anywhere off the catch or off the bounce. When he shoots it off the bounce his go to move is a crossover step back and it is almost automatic. This tournament he really stepped it up defensively with getting stops on a consistent basis and really making it tough on the ball handler.

Goodwin has been a lights out shooter this tournament getting 20 points on a nightly basis for his Wolfpack team. His quick release allows him to get his shot off anytime he needs to and it usually goes in. He gets face guarded so much he’s used to it and knows how to get himself open to get the ball and either score or make plays for his teammate. One area he has improved in was his ability to put the ball on the floor and score inside the paint in a variety of different ways.

The word that describes Korbin is “shifty” is what the referees said all weekend about Gunn. When he has the ball it’s so hard for anyone to keep him in front defensively so Korbin gets to the rim whenever he wants. Gunn has tons of weapons to use at the rim to finish but he also has started to knock down the 3 point shot and when that goes in it’s not much you can do to stop his team. Defensively Korbin wants the best match up and he usually wins the battle. Gunn is also an incredible leader vocally and leads by his actions.

Jamarri is so explosive when he plays especially when he’s in the paint. He knows how to use his bounce and speed to blow by the defender and finish over 2 people. He’s at his best when he’s in transition because of his creativity and willingness to share with others. One thing Simpson has done is prove to you that he’s just as good as a 3 point shooter as he is finisher. When he’s open in the half court set he will take the 3 pointer with no hesitation leaving you confused on how to guard him.
