As we approach the opening of the NCAA’s first Division I live period in July, it’s worth breaking down some of the squads headed into it from North Carolina. From powerhouses like Team CP3 playing at Peach Jam, to other local or regional programs competing at the Phenom and Big Shots events, North Carolina’s AAU programs are fielding a ton of college level talent for coaches to observe. Read along for some more teams and players that will be on my must see list.

Eddie Sommers has done a great job of retooling his squad for July, keeping some fun guards and adding some more scoring and bigs. They’ll be at both Phenom events in July.
Blake Bartney Blake Bartney 6'2" | CG Millbrook | 2024 State NC – Combo guard with major scoring ability. Doesn’t need the ball in his hands to create, a great cutter and slasher. Physical and relentless around the rim.
Mason Dobie Mason Dobie 6'2" | SG First Flight | 2025 State NC – Sniper that can play the point or off the ball. On the smaller side but can make plays if needed for teammates. One of the best shooters in the state.
Parker Bye Parker Bye 6'3" | SG Trinity Academy | 2025 State NC – Another tweener combo guard type, got smarts and character on the court for days. Leader and decision maker for his team. Can shoot it well from deep.
Alonso Easterling Alonso Easterling 6'9" | C Fayetteville Academy | 2025 VA – Thin, athletic forward that has real height and length at 6’11. Stretching the floor with his jump shot more recently and could become game breaking with that.
CC Elite 2024
A more regional group out of the 704 area, these guys are always well-coached and have a couple of studs within their group that will make an impact at the next level. Will play at both Phenom events during the live period.
Tyree White Tyree White 6'0" | PG Covenant Day | 2025 State NC – Bigger, sturdy lead guard that I always enjoy watching. Makes the right reads consistently, and is unflappable with the ball in his hands. Very steady and dependable.
Grant Hamilton Grant Hamilton 6'2" | CG Weddington | 2024 State NC – Has an absolute clip. Moves well without the ball, spaces the floor with precision, and should be a mandatory viewing experience in how to shoot the ball. Can get hot quickly.
Dylan Deluca Dylan Deluca 6'7" | SF United Faith Christian Academy | 2025 State NC – Another great shooter, has more size and can play as a real wing. Can take smaller defenders down low to the post or rim. Does a little bit of everything at 6’7.
Team Curry 2026
These young guys Team Curry has assembled are all electric in athleticism and skill, and hold some of the top talent that will take the 2026 class of NC by storm. They’ll be playing at UAA Finals this week.
Elhadji Diallo Elhadji Diallo 6'7" | PF Combine Academy | 2026 State NC – One of the most athletic rising sophomores I’ve ever seen in my life. Springs for legs, runs hard, plays above the rim. Lots of room to grow into his offensive game. Defensive nightmare in the paint.
Chaise Smith Chaise Smith 6'2" | PG Washington | 2026 State NC – Leaper and athletic slasher offensively. Playing point guard which makes him a threat to distribute when defenders are taking away the drive. Well-rounded and intelligent for his age.
Kobe Edwards – Leader and lead guard any team could use. Runs an offense with pace and tempo. Great ball handler and finisher at the rim. Defense is full of effort and toughness.
Jamyr Coleman Jamyr Coleman 5'8" | PG Enloe | 2026 State NC – Small, shifty guard. Elite lateral movement and change of speed. Fluid and pass-first playmaker who is actually look to get his teammates open. Can score it all over the floor.
