Maxwell turned in a pair of fantastic performances on Sunday, leading Fury to a third straight Region Final victory. He is one of the fastest players in the state and was blowing by defenders with ease to get inside. He can make acrobatic finishes at the rim or make picture-perfect kick out passes to open teammates. Woods also knocked down some shots from the outside, getting hot in the championship game, scoring 29 points. He’s already committed to play football at North Dakota State, but it would have been interesting to see how much his recruitment would have picked up after this weekend as a basketball player.
Walker really impressed me on Sunday and led North Dakota Phenom to the 16U championship game. He was unstoppable getting to the basket, being able to maneuver his body to finish around defenders or absorb contact to finish right through traffic. He is also a threat to score from the perimeter, showing off his smooth jumper in clutch situations. Braaten is an all-around athlete, also being a difference maker on the defensive side of the ball and while running in transition. It is easy to see why he is ranked as one of the top 2025 prospects in all of North Dakota.
Brogan is so fun to watch when he is feeling it offensively. He was finding major success getting downhill and finishing through traffic. He can make tough layups at full speed and can make one move to get around his defender in a flash. He is never the tallest player on the floor, but never avoids contact inside. Madson always brings full effort and helped his Select 16U team to a championship win.
Highlights
Andrew is a prospect that really impressed me during the spring and that did not change on Sunday. The combination of his size and ability to move at his age is unreal and allowed him to dominate the paint. He is an exceptional rebounder and was eliminating any second chance opportunities for the opposition . Offensively, he converted on some putback baskets and threw down a pair of thunderous dunks to seal the win. Jensen has loads of potential and is sure to be ranked as one of Wisconsin’s top incoming sophomores.
Jalen is such a weapon offensively and can change the entire outlook on a game in a couple of possessions. He has such a deep bag of ways he can score the ball and is constantly leaving defenders on their toes with his versatility. On Sunday, he was doing most of his damage from beyond the arc, being a threat to pull up off the dribble or quickly get a look off in the catch-and-shoot. He also showcased his ability to attack the rim and get to his spots in the mid-range throughout the weekend. It will definitely be fun to watch him work in an expanded role during the high school season.

I was not very familiar with Sawyer’s game coming into this weekend but he instantly stuck out to me with his shot creating skills. He has solid size for a wing at his age and combined that with the multiple ways he could create using the dribble. He could finish around the basket inside or step out and knock down looks from the perimeter. Durkee was a major contributor to All Wisconsin’s 15U championship this past weekend.
I really like what Kayden can bring to a team, as he can do a little bit of everything when he is on the floor. At 6’4”, he can work inside as more of a forward, but also has the versatility to match up with guards and handle the ball in certain situations. He did most of his scoring work inside, but also showed flashes of what he can do from the perimeter. Oakland is a winning player who I would want on my team, as he brings the effort on both sides of the ball.
