Lytch Makes Return:
It has been a long time to see Mr. Lytch back on the floor. Recently Da’Mori Lytch Da’Mori Lytch 6'6" | SF Quality Education Academy | 2024 State NC returned to action for Big Shots SC Premier. The Wilson HS small forward looks to be back at full strength after being sidelined for most of last season. Lytch played a handful of games for the Tigers who won the Class 4A State Championship last March. Da’Mori showed some explosiveness to the basket while stalking the baseline at times and finishing a few dunks along the way.
Carr, Simmons and Turner Share Moments:
Big Shots SC Premier played a very solid Winston-Salem Christian on the Main Floor here today. Darius Carr Darius Carr 6'7" | PF Gray Collegiate | 2024 State SC will have a new address at Gray Collegiate this season after playing at Carolina Forest HS. Carr showed some good moments down low on the block and from the short corner. Can Carr be a consistent double-double guy for the War Eagles this season?
RJ Simmons RJ Simmons 6'0" | PG James Island | 2024 State SC is back for another year at James Island Charter. Simmons can handle both guard spots in the backcourt while doing a really good job of using his body to stir up contact on the way to the bucket. RJ has a knack to score the ball and will do just that very plentiful at times.
Qayden Turner Qayden Turner 6'6" | SF Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC is a long and rangy forward who brings good versatility to the floor for the Hilton Head Christian Eagles. Turner will stop and pop from the perimeter or simply slash to the basket via the baseline. Turner can drive to the deck in a handful of dribbles while causing some problems for defenders.
This trio of players should see plenty of recruitment moving forward along with Lytch.
Davis, O’Kelly and Campbell lead Next Level Elite:
It sounds like a Law Firm that’s for sure. Franklin Davis Franklin Davis 6'3" | SG Landrum | 2024 State SC , Cameron O’Kelley Cameron O’Kelley 6'3" | CG Seneca | 2024 State SC and Jeremiah Campbell Jeremiah Campbell 6'2" | SG Wren | 2024 State SC led the way today for the Next Level Elite squad.
Davis picked up an offer this weekend from Emory & Henry (VA) a NCAA D2 school for his efforts. Davis dropped 24 points in the opener for Next Level Elite. Franklin has the ability to score the ball from all 3 levels on the floor in a hurry at times. The Landrum HS guard has had a good spring and summer with Next Level Elite and the Cardinals.
O’Kelley brings a player who can play both positions in the backcourt just like Davis. These two really mesh well together on the floor and know how to play off one another. Cameron attends Seneca HS in the Northwestern corner of the Palmetto State. Both of these young men seem to bring it every night and NEVER look to take a play off while on the hardwood.
Campbell is a great johnny on the spot type of guy at times. Jeremiah had his shot falling today in the game we watched. He dropped several three pointers in the victory. Don’t leave him open on the floor otherwise he will make the defense regret it.
Felton in a New Uniform:
Ladontae Felton Ladontae Felton 6'2" | PG South Aiken | 2024 State SC was wearing a different Big Shots uniform this past weekend in Rock Hill. Felton this time was running with Big Shots Tri-Cities. Boogie really likes to play in the open court and get the ball to the basket. He’s quite shifty with the ball in his hands on the way to the rack. Felton will switch hands and race by defenders with his quick first step and bursts to the basket with ease. Boogie really keeps the ball on a string and rarely turns it over. He sees the floor very well and at times seems to be one step ahead of his teammates.
Felton will also be wearing a new uniform during the high school season this year. Boogie will be playing at South Aiken HS where his father coaches the girls program.
Hager Lets it Fly:
Zyan Hager Zyan Hager 6'1" | SG Catawba Ridge | 2024 State SC has a quick trigger from behind the arc and long-range shooting ability. Hager dropped 18 points in a tough loss to Big Shots-Tri Cities. Zyan has been doing it all spring and summer long and that’s making shots from deep. The Catawba Ridge HS product heads into his senior season with a very talented squad around rim. Hager runs with D1 Stars on the Grassroots Circuit.
D1 Stars Stay Local:
The D1 Stars consist of players from the Rock Hill-Fort Mill area. This group has played a lot of games up the eastern seaboard this past spring and summer. The team consist of JJ Rembert JJ Rembert 5'11" | PG Nation Ford | 2024 State SC , Caden Giles Caden Giles 6'10" | C Nation Ford | 2024 State SC , Four Petre Four Petre 6'3" | SG Nation Ford | 2024 State SC and others.
Rembert and Giles will team up together this season at Nation Ford HS. Rembert a left-handed point guard prefers to play fast to the cup and seems to be best at doing that while dropping a floater along the way.
Giles looks to still be growing some and figuring out where he stands on the floor. Caden has a slender and rangy frame right now but has a soft set of hands. Giles is quite mobile and agile but still must get stronger down the road.
Petre will have a new address at Nation Ford HS this coming season after playing last year at Indian Land HS. Four is specialist at times for knocking down shots on the perimeter and behind the three-point line.
D1 Stars lost a close one here today to Big Shots Tri-Cities which came down to the wire.
