Who are some of these young men from the State of West Virginia playing here today down in Myrtle Beach, SC?
Who Will Postgrad?
Eli Allen the former West Virginia State Player of the Year will attend Moravian Prep this coming fall he told Prep Hoops. Allen helped James Monroe HS win the past two state championships in Class A.
Brandon Dennison Brandon Dennison 6'5" | PF Moravian Prep | 2024 WV who recently finished at George Washington HS will join Allen at Moravian Prep this coming fall he told Prep Hoops.
Who’s on the Move?
Brady Anderson Brady Anderson 6'5" | PF George Washington | 2024 State WV informed Prep Hoops that he will play at George Washington HS this coming season. Anderson had been recently at Ripley HS. Anderson informed Prep Hoops that he was no longer playing football after playing this past weekend with Team Loaded West Virginia. Anderson plays the game with a blue-collar mindset down in the paint. He seems to be at his best from 2 feet in on the floor and knocking opponents around.
Mountaineer State Represented Well:
Ammar Maxwell Ammar Maxwell 6'3" | SG Shady Spring | 2024 State WV – Shady Spring HS
Maxwell has good length and versatility to be all over the floor for his WV Crossover 17U squad. Ammar really likes to handle the rock and was able to show at times today his ability to get to the rack. He really looks to excel in the transition game. Ammar plays extremely active in the passing lanes and had several deflections today for his efforts.
Christian Goebel Christian Goebel 6'3" | SF George Washington | 2024 State WV – George Washington HS
Goebel was able to connect on some short jumpers and later on connected on a few three pointers. Christian has the ability to seal, drive it and make hard cuts when needed. He really plays well away from the ball and making himself available on the floor.
Jayallen Turner Jayallen Turner 6'5" | SF Charleston Catholic | 2024 State WV – Huntington HS
Turner is a bit of a TWEENER at times on the floor and really is a guy who can do a little bit of everything it seems. Jayallen scores around the bucket when needed if it’s collecting loose change or just finishing on bucket, he does it. Turner isn’t flashy at all but he delivers results when he’s on the floor with good production. Turner was running with TCF Wildcats here this weekend in Myrtle Beach.
Dawson Lunsford Dawson Lunsford 6'3" | PG George Washington | 2024 State WV – George Washington HS
Lunsford came out and made several shots today for his squad. Dawson uses the ball screen very well going to the cup. He was able to set his feet and knockdown some shots from downtown.
Maki Cary Maki Cary 5'10" | PG Teays Valley Christian | 2025 State WV – Huntington Prep
Cary was able to drop some three-point bombs today for his squad. Maki shot the ball with a lot of confidence and felt right home making shots out on the perimeter. Cary was quite crafty with the ball at times and was able to touch the paint. Maki is a bit of menace on the defensive end of the floor at times with his quick hands.
TD Bodkins TD Bodkins 6'5" | SF Philip Barbour | 2025 State WV – Philip Barbour HS
Bodkins just plays the game at a very keel for the most part while on the floor. TD had his shot working today especially from the corners. He was able to convert at a high percentage clip while draining several perimeter jumpers.
Harry Silvis Harry Silvis 6'2" | SG Parkersburg South | 2026 State WV – Parkersburg South HS
Silvis was on fire all weekend with his shooting from behind the arc. Harry made several threes while setting up shop behind the three-point line. He logged plenty of minutes and rarely left the floor for his Team Loaded WV 15U squad.
