Here’s a look at some of the big 2025s who we expect to stand out next high school season:
Elite Talents:
Carter Kaifes Carter Kaifes 6'6" | PF Mill Valley | 2025 State #317 Nation KS , 6-foot-6 forward, 2025, Mill Valley:
A very skilled forward, Kaifes has an unfair advantage in getting shots off from the perimeter. He’s a dead-eye who uses his length effectively. His size and physique allow him to make plays in the midrange and around the goal too. He produced a solid line of 17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists as the best sophomore in the state. Look for him to have a big junior year on one of the most loaded teams in the state next year.
Amalachi Wilkins Amalachi Wilkins 6'8" | C Wichita Heights | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-7 center, 2025, Wichita Heights (pictured):
Wilkins has some of the most elite athletic gifts in the state. He’s impressively long and yet doesn’t appear lanky. He adds to his length some elite spring and explosiveness. Wilkins is intimidating anchoring the back of the Falcons’ defense and can match the athleticism of pretty much any player at any position. He continues to add to his skill set and will be more of an offensive force next season.
Impressive Physiques:
Will Goode Will Goode 6'9" | C Aquinas | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-9 center, 2025, Aquinas:
Goode impressed as a freshman for his immense size and fundamentals. Since then he’s obviously worked very hard to develop his body. He’s now a lean and athletic big man with an expanding game. He will be one of the biggest and longest bigs in the state this year and should really blossom. Watch for the 9 points and 6 boards he averaged as a sophomore to increase significantly.
Parker Hardgrave Parker Hardgrave 6'7" | C Wichita South | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-8 center, 2025, Wichita South:
Hardgrave is a hard working big who is likely to take another large step as a junior. The group around him is young and talented. He’s not just tall but big and physical. He bangs in the lane and really attacks the offensive glass. The lefty has good touch around the rim and some smart post moves.
Julian Marks Julian Marks 6'7" | PF Aquinas | 2025 KS , 6-foot-7 center, 2025, Aquinas:
As if having the 6-foot-9 Goode wasn’t enough, Aquinas looks to have “Juju” Marks on the court for another season. You never know what a guy will decide when he blows up this big on the football recruiting trail. But if he does play football next season, he might be the most impressive specimen this side of…Goode. Marks is now listed at 6-foot-7 and 270 pounds, so you could count on one hand the number of guys who can match his size, much less his light feet and agility.
Small School Studs:
Jackson Rumford Jackson Rumford 6'5" | C Scott Community | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-5 center, 2025, Scott Community:
A highly productive post, Rumford is athletic and versatile. He blocks a couple of shots and dishes out a couple of assists a game. His 18 points and 8 rebounds are among the best of the rising junior class. Nearly every good big in the 3A class graduated, so Rumford will be a headliner for the next two seasons.
Chase Honarvar Chase Honarvar 6'7" | C Bishop Seabury Academy | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-7 center, 2025, Bishop Seabury:
If anybody in the state could average a triple-double, it might by Honarvar. This might be a rising star in the 2A ranks. Honarvar is big and uses his body to shield opponents and create space. He has soft hands and catches it well when fed over the top. He blocks a ton of shots and dominates on the glass. Keep your eye on this guy’s progress.
Big Guard:
Corbin Johnson Corbin Johnson 6'4" | PG Kapaun Mt Carmel | 2025 State KS 6-foot-3 guard, 2025, Kapaun Mt. Carmel:
One of the fast-rising stars of the 2025 class is the big point man Johnson. A role player as a freshman, he was a spearhead for the potent Crusader offense as a sophomore, handling the ball and distributing it to the scorers. If defenses slept on him, he drilled 50% of his shots from deep. He has the height to see over, pass over, and shoot over most guards in the state, and his length helps him create angles. Johnson isn’t physically big, but he will continue to grow and fill out, adding strength to his impressive set of tools.
