Continue ReadingDayton makes the move from 17th to 7th in this update and looks primed for a monster Senior season where he can push for regional player of the year. Williams had a strong AAU season and capped his season with 73 points combined in 2 games this past Sunday. Buy stock in Williams while you still can.
One problem we have with Prep Hoops is that there isn’t a ton of coverage in far Western Kentucky. Finally getting eyes on Bateman again, he rose from 37th to 16th in this update. Improved as a shooter, Derrell plays with a tremendous motor and had almost 20 rebounds for the Junior All Star team in June. He’s earned multiple NAIA offers and should see more coming his way.
Jeremiah had a big Spring of AAU and a solid June with Great Crossing before a quiet July of AAU. The 6’7 forward climbs from 32nd to 22nd and could move higher if he returns to the form he showed this spring when he was playing above the rim, rebounding well and showing improved handles and shooting. Holding multiple NAIA offers already, Godfrey could be a steal on signing day for someone.
Moving up 10 spots from 36th to 26th, Smith is one of the more underrated guards across the state. Taveon is a versatile scorer who is also a willing passer and can be a really good defender when he locks in on that end of the court. Taveon has several NAIA offers at this point and could sneak into the discussion with D1 schools if he has another good season at North Hardin this winter.
