Obviously with this being the first one, there will be a lot of changes moving forward as players grow, develop and emerge over the next few years. The 48 player prospect rankings are just a starting point, and we’re excited to continue to monitor and learn new names moving forward.
Here’s a look at the top 5 shooting guards and small forward in the 2026 class.
5) Isaiah Brown Isaiah Brown 6'0" | SG Westfield | 2026 State VA | 6’0” SG | Westfield (#15 Overall)
Brown may be on the smaller side for his position but he’s still young for his age and likely still growing, and if there’s one thing he does it’s score the basketball at a very impressive rate. He’s a three level scorer who is smooth and quick off the bounce, and he’s able to create space and make tough shots from the perimeter. He gets downhill and is a strong finisher in traffic, he can move off the ball where he moves well and can relocate to get open shots and he can get hot quickly and fill it up in bunches.
4) JJ Addison JJ Addison 6'5" | SF Frederick | 2026 State MD | 6’6” SF | Bishop O’Connell (#11 Overall)
Addison has tons of upside to be at the very top of this list with his O’Connell teammates, and they’re going to be a tough matchup in the WCAC over the next few years. The 6’6” wing is a natural athlete who is smooth and explosive when he gets downhill, and he already has good size and length for his position and is likely still growing. He’s shown the ability to play on and off the basketball and is able to get open either way, he can make shots from deep off the catch, he can use his size to shoot and finish over defenders and he has a ton of upside on the defensive end too.
3) Deshawn Spellman Deshawn Spellman 6'6" | SF Landstown | 2026 State VA | 6’7” SF | Landstown (#6 Overall)
Spellman is another high upside guy who could end up at the top of this list, and while he’s young he has all of the tools of a can’t miss prospect. He’s already 6’7” with long arms and a basketball frame that should fill out as he develops and gets in the weight room more, and he’s a smooth athlete who can play around the rim and is good rebounder too. A few qualities that make me so high on him moving forward is that he’s already an excellent shooter from deep and at his size that translates well, he plays with pace and doesn’t get sped up and he has huge upside defensively with his length and feel.
2) Adam Oummidoch | 6’4” SG | Bishop O’Connell (#5 Overall)
Oummidoch wasted no time making a name for himself last summer as he burst on the scene as just a rising freshman at DMV Live, and he hasn’t looked back since as he has emerged as one of the top young wings in the DMV and already holds a handful of impressive offers. He’s a throwback style player as he is gritty and tough on both ends but is really good when he gets downhill as he has great body control and the ability to make tough shots through contact. He sores it well from all three levels, he’s extremely efficient and he gets to the line often and he doesn’t back down from older guys or the best of the best in the area.
1) Quincy Wadley Quincy Wadley 6'5" | SF Bishop O'Connell | 2026 State VA | 6’5” SF | Bishop O’Connell (#4 Overall)
Wadley makes 4 of the top 5 wings in the 2026 class that are at O’Connell showing the depth of their freshman class, and he gets the slight nod as the best of them after he had a tremendous freshman season. Usually postseason awards and lists are left to upperclassmen, but Wadley was so good that he was named First Team All WCAC, an extreme rarity. At 6’5” he’s another guy who already has impressive size and length and could still be growing, he shoots the ball very well from deep with a quick release and consistency and he has a natural ability to create and make tough shots from multiple levels. He has tons of upside to go along with his already impressive skillset and he’s already had a great start to his high school career.
