ScoutsFocus All-American Camp – Top Players Pt I

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I had the opportunity to attend ScoutsFocus All-American Camp this weekend, an event that has had the likes of Andrew Wiggins, Jalen Green, and Dariq Whitehead play in the past. Another impressive crop of guys played this weekend, with over 120 players from 20+ different states. He's thin and a bit awkward, but has lots of room to grow into his frame and continue to develop his hands and strength. Got a few post moves to work with as shown when he was super physical inside and down low. He fights hard on both ends to try and either seal defenders or fight around his mans seal. He does well cleaning up the glass with his length and ability to find his man to box out. He's someone that would be worth a flyer now, and potentially a real priority next year with some development in his physical frame and hand skills.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["1382011"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Johnson was definitely in my top few players of the entire camp and should be somebody popping on D1 coaches radars ASAP. He has the ball on a string and looks very comfortable attacking pressure or beating his man off the dribble. Very good passer in transition and has great vision off the bounce, playing well out of ballscreens and when his team can run after a missed shot. He whipped some impressive passes between defenders and through traffic today. He was a great finisher at the rim and can punish poor gap and help defense by taking guys 1 on 1, getting to places on the floor where his man had no help and couldn't stay in front. He was also a good jump shooter when called upon off the catch. He's very fluid and active in transition, as he runs the break will and is always looking to push the pace, on or off the ball. In the halfcourt he gets to his spots, knocks down jumpers and finishes well at the rim. He's a complete solid package that does everything pretty well. He played off ball as another guard and really helped his team win with his unselfish and efficient play. He knocked down threes from spacing well, shooting off pick and pops, and even coming off screens. His intangibles, specifically his poise and chatter on defense as well as offense, stood out to me when I watched him as well. He's a primarily off the ball mover, cutter, and scorer at the next level, but he showed flashes of being able to take over a game as well. He's a great leaper and can play above the rim all the time, both off his own dribble or on the run in transition. That's where he is a true team player, doing all the right things to make his team be efficient when pushing the ball. He also showed good ball skills and an ability to knock down jumpers, both in the mid-range and from deep. He was able to break down defenders 1 on 1 on multiple occasions.
